Internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munros Field of Light, inspired by a trip to Uluru 24-years ago, has been installed in a remote desert area within sight of majestic Uluru.
In the quiet of pre-dawn, this once in a lifetime experience will be etched in your mind forever. Arrive at Field of Light while the earth is still blanketed in darkness and wander through the field of 50,000 glowing spheres of colour while Desert Oaks seemingly appear from nowhere as the dawn light creeps above the horizon. Youll eventually make your way to the top of an ancient sand dune where youll see the first rays of sunrise set the desert sky alight, flooding the landscape with warm light while you enjoy tea, coffee and hot chocolate with stunning views of Uluru.

Under the cover of darkness youre invited to wander through the pathways that encompass the 50,000 spheres of light in the desert, before making your way up the hill to the Dune Top viewing area. Watch the amazing transformation of colors and life as the desert awakens, while enjoying tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Then as the first rays of sunlight creep across the desert sky, gaze in awe as the sun rises in the distance behind Uluru, flooding the landscape, including Kata Tjuta behind you, with light.
Youll have an incredible view through stunning desert landscape as the sun rises over the Red Centre. As the natural light brightens the landscape, the Field of Light will dim for the day. Seeing the lights all over the field in the darkness was really speccy experience for me as I had wanted to see it for a long time.
Spectacular. A must do activity. Well organised. Amazing pictures. Great transport out and back. Lovely cuppa. Take a torch. Wear closed in shoes.
Not overly impressed by this. I had been looking forward to this but it wasn't as impressive as expected.
The field of light was absolutely amazing what a mind blowing experience. Also the sunrise on Ayres rock was an experience not to miss with a lovely hot drink to finish off the early morning. Something I will always remember.
Great tour - very early wake up, we were picked up at 4am from our hotel but the views and experience was worth it. Make sure to bring a warm jacket as it can get very windy and very cold.. coffee tea and biscuits were a lovely touch Would recommend
We enjoyed this unique exhibit out in the bush along with the very nice sunrise, but felt that it was on the expensive side of things given the fact that good sunrises can be seen in any number of great places without coming at a cost. Regardless, a nice tour, particularly for those visiting without a car.
Who would know? Unfortunately Viator cancelled this tour without notifying us. Was a fabulous 3:45am wake up for nothing.
It was a truly amazing experience. Don’t miss out on this one, beautiful against the sunrise. Great tour and the people were very friendly.
Was just a great experience. Guides where very friendly. Really good spot to watch the sun come up over the rock behind the lights
The light instillation was interesting to see. What was more impressive was the vibrancy of the stars! Sadly the guide didn’t even mention that! The paths were not that well lit so if you were unsure on your feet in the dark it was a bit problematic. It was expensive for a short trip and a hot drink. I guess you can’t expect more when Voyager owns the whole resort including the land the ‘Field if Light’ is on! And they make it so you can’t explore it yourself!
