Overview

Sintra has a magical atmosphere. It's one of the most beautiful villages in Portugal.

On this tour, you will visit a unique place in the world, the first Cultural Landscape to be inscribed as a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site.

In ancient times, it was known as Moonlight Hill", a place of prehistoric cults and rituals.

In the 19-century, the ruins of a monastery were transformed into the stunning Pena National Palace, the perfect setting for a fairy tale.

Along the palace, there is a natural park, with exotic and luxurious vegetation.

Have lunch in the village center, where you can visit, as an option, the beautiful Quinta da Regaleira.

Then we head to Cabo da Roca, where the land ends and the sea begins. Its the westernmost point of Europe.

We continue driving along the coast, passing the beautiful Guincho beach, a surfer's paradise.

At Cascais, admire the charm of this former royal summer village and enjoy a walking tour by the bay or the elegant cafes of the city.

My family and I had an amazing day with our guide, Mario. He made us feel like family. He tailored the day to meet our desires and he showed us so many beautiful places that we would never have experienced without him. We were able to move at our own pace and really enjoy the day. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you Mario.

Fantastic! Nouno is an incredible guide; interesting, knowledgeable , funny. We had a great time! The fairytale palace was better than anticipated. Driving along the coast and arriving at the end of Europe at Cabo Da Roca was a unique experience. After, we went to beautiful Cascais and walked on the boardwalk. The drive back to Lisbon was entertaining due to the great stories of our guide. Great day!

We 2 couples from the US did a full day van tour to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril with Nuno on the last day of our Portugal vacation. Nuno was prompt, personable, enthusiastic, and filled with stories and history. What a great communicator and teacher. He was flexible, relaxed, honest, and accommodating. Our only issue was choosing to do this tour on a national holiday (and a Monday and a totally gorgeous sunny day) which meant Sintra was over the top crowded with long lines and traffic. We couldn't see any of the palaces we had hoped to see, although Nuno eventually managed to get us into Monserrat. He was also truly surprised and frustrated with the crowds, but maintained a professional demeanor and helped us make the best of the day-- we learned a lot from him and had very nice visits to Cabo do Roca, Cascais and Estoril on the way back to Lisbon. It wasn't exactly what we hoped, but it was a good day in the end. If we ever decided to do this tour again, we would buy palace tickets in advance and choose a less popular day to visit (and definitely not a holiday)--- we might even choose a less popular day trip outside of Lisbon. We would definitely choose Sardinha do Bairro tours if we return in the future!

We had a beautiful trip to Sintra/Cascais with Mario, the breathtaking views and inspirational environment was more than we expected. This is a must do on your Portugal holiday!! This tour was very scenic. Our tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable. We actually spent some of our free time with him asking more questions. This place is gorgeous & so under rated. Happy to have gone in the off season to avoid all the crowds. The Restaurant Mario suggested for lunch was a nice representation of typical Portuguese food. It was AMAZING!! The drive was safe and comfortable. Highly Recommend this tour. Would love to go back to portugal some day.

What a wonderful tour of beautiful Sintra and Cascais. The Pena Castle was truly a site to behold. The lines are long but well worth it. And everything about Cascais was beautiful. Our driver Mario was very friendly and flexible with plans. Highly recommended.
