Know More about this tour

Meet your ghost-expert guide near the Rialto bridge and set off on your 1.5-hour walking tour to discover Venices haunted corners.

As darkness descends and the crowds of the day disappear, you will feel as if you have Venice to yourself, with only the sounds of lapping water and your groups echoing footsteps to accompany you.

Step down narrow passageways, trace silent canals and roam empty squares as your guide recounts six intriguing ghost stories and legends. Hear about the apparitions that stalk the citys medieval palaces, listen to tales of strange sea creatures and shiver at the story of Venices 15th-century butcher, Biasio, who murdered children and added their limbs to his tasty stews.

Walk over flagstones that hide ancient underground cemeteries and delve down sidestreets to stumble across architectural follies such as the Fortuny Palace and Bovolo Staircase, an ornate stone spiral staircase. Hear ghostly tales about the staircase and how it enabled a medieval nobleman to climb to his living quarters on horseback.

Delve into one of the citys last secret passages (access subject to water levels) and, as you walk, hear dark tales of the lover who used the alley to visit his married lover under cover of night.

Then, feel your blood run cold in the Calle dei Assassini, a shadowy street once frequented by killers and criminals, as your guide recounts the brutal murders that took place here.

After around 1.5 hours, make your way back to the Rialto Bridge, where your tour finishes.

OUr guide was very pleasant and she had plenty of funny tales to tell but for most of it, we could have sat in a bar and be told them because 90% of the stories were about events that happened elsewhere, not about where we had just walked to.

This tour was informative and interesting but I would not consider it a ghost tour. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. expectation of it being a spooky ghost tour fell short. Maybe it needs to be relabled as a Dark venice tour ??

What better place to hear a ghost story then in Venice! Our guide Christina was enjoyable and entertaining in her delivery. She did a nice job of sharing a little spooky, a little macabre and a little scandal! A non traditional way to learn about Venice and it’s history you won’t get from any touristy guide brochures!

My friend and I had a great evening on the tour with the lovely Christina. She was very interesting and amusing as she revealed some of the darker secrets of this amazing place. Our second visit to one of our favourite cities, it was fabulous to walk the back streets and hidden laneways and learn some gruesome history of its amazing buildings and architecture. It was wonderful to see the city after dark, evoking the feelings of what it might have been like in past times.

Cool thing to do at night ---- get to see the city in a different light. It was a walking tour so many sure you bring good shoes. There was not much of a ghost story but more a walking tour seeing the 'stranger' sites of Venice. Our guide was knowledgeable, interactive, fun.u will go down alleyways, over bridges, under bridges.

this was both factual and entertaining, full marks to the Edi (female) who not only delivered on fact but with a flourish, whilst also showing us other areas of Venice, recommended if you have time to wander and be entertained.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. Told several stories about various spots in Venice to intrigue the tour members. Not particularly ghastly but still entertaining.
