Know More about this tour

Meet your ghost-expert guide near the Rialto Bridge and set off on your 1.5-hour walking tour to discover Venice’s haunted corners.

As darkness descends and the crowds of the day disappear, you will feel as if you have Venice to yourself, with only the sounds of lapping water and your group’s echoing footsteps to accompany you.

Step down narrow passageways, trace silent canals and roam empty squares as your guide recounts six intriguing ghost stories and legends. Hear about the apparitions that stalk the city’s medieval palaces, listen to tales of strange sea creatures and shiver at the story of Venice’s 15th-century butcher, Biasio, who murdered children and added their limbs to his tasty stews.

Walk over flagstones that hide ancient underground cemeteries and delve down sidestreets to stumble across architectural follies such as the Fortuny Palace and Bovolo Staircase, an ornate stone spiral staircase. Hear ghostly tales about the staircase and how it enabled a medieval nobleman to climb to his living quarters on horseback.

Delve into one of the city’s last secret passages (access subject to water levels) and, as you walk, hear dark tales of the lover who used the alley to visit his married lover under cover of night.

Then, feel your blood run cold in the Calle dei Assassini, a shadowy street once frequented by killers and criminals, as your guide recounts the brutal murders that took place here.

After around 1.5 hours, make your way back to the Rialto Bridge, where your tour finishes.

  • We do this tour every time we come to Venice and never tire of it. If you've never been to Venice its a great trip to do early on in your trip as it helps you find your way around the streets for the rest of the trip. It's very easy to get lost it's almost a certainty. T his ghost tour takes you down narrow lanes and ally-ways that you would never try on your own. It's 90 mins long which is plenty - do the 7.30pm trip and you finish up at 9pm ... just in time for dinner and with plenty to talk about will you eat. It's a flat walk at a very relaxed pace ... highly recommended

  • Fun and entertaining.

  • Christina, our guide was both fun and informative. Indeed, it was a good way to see different parts of this wonderful city from a different perspective!

  • Venice is a unique place with a lot of history and spooky neighborhoods...and I think more could be done to improve this tour.

  • This was truly a great experience. Not so much because there was anything that was really scary but because of the tour guide who kept things very interesting. She showed us some really dark and quite places in Venice and also told us a lots of history about the city. She also does a special surprise which I wont mention in here. Great job by the tour guide Christina.

  • Had a great time. Fun and informative.

  • Good tour with scary stories of some of Venice's darker secrets.

  • We did this tour in July with our family includes 3 boys aged 15, 13, 10. Everyone loved it! Great tour for kids because it is interesting and informative and not boring at all plus it was a beautiful walk. Our guide was incredible especially great with the younger kids in the group she knew so much about the city and even told us an interesting back story to our hotel!

    Would highly recommend.

  • Great walking tour in Venice. We met on Rialto bridge about 7 pm, and did the 2 hour walking tour at night, which is when the crowd is gone and temperature is just right. You'll hear legends of the old Venice, chilling stories of the past, and ghost mysteries. My husband and I had a great time. I suggest to reserve this tour months in advance.

  • Really good tour and it let you stroll through the dark alleys of
Venice. Our guide was great and the story telling was amazing. The only thing I would change was the group was a little too big. It was a Friday night though, so it may be smaller on other evenings.
