really comfortable train ride, the guide was superb, very friendly and very knowledgeable. The whole day was really well organised. Plenty of time to do your own thing as well and get something to eat. The gondolas are a bit expensive but you can't go to Venice and not have a ride in one.

There is so much I could say about the tour. The tour guide was wonderful--but he was put in a bad situation. Gray Line Tours was the operator, and there were probably about 30 or more people. with one tour guide, trying to communicate with the tour group in English, Spanish, and Italian. The tour guide was friendly and polite, but said he wasn't an official tour guide so was limited on the amount of information he could give. We were given tickets to the train, then onto a ferry from the terminal to cross over into Venice. Once in Venice, we were herded into St Marks--made a square in the building and then out. Then time to explore on your own, then herded back for a gondola ride, then free time, then ferry ride back, more free time and train ride. I think there should have been a tour guide for each language spoken, as it was unrealistic for this young man to try to communicate in three languages. He had a positive attitude and was very polite, but many of us felt bad for him. Otherwise, we did meet nice people on the tour, and we enjoyed the gondola ride and walking around in Venice. Gray Line has enough money not to be so greedy and provide appropriate resources.

It is a long day from Rome but well worth it. Our guide met us in Rome and travelled with us all the way to Venice and back. Throughout the trip she provided interesting details about Venice and told us what to expect once we arrived in Venice and the free time available. She suggested places to visit and where to eat and we returned together at the end of the day for a late arrival back in Rome.

Beautiful! I think the guide has to stay longer with the group and tell more of the history and show all the most important places.

We really enjoyed the tour to Venice! Our guide, Antonella, was so good about taking care of all the details. She helped us maneuver through the streets of Venice, but also gave us time to do some touring, eating, and shopping on our own. Loved the gondola ride!

This was a great trip! We very much enjoyed the trip to Venice. It was extra special with our guide Rebecca. She was great at giving us information we needed making sure we knew where to be at what time, She was also great at giving info on Venice and she was a lot of fun to spend the train ride with her.

It was a very well organised tour. The guide made us feel very comfortable. Gondola ride was great..

This was by far my favorite place so far while visiting Italy! We were able to stay with the guide or we could go out and sight see on our own with scheduled meeting points and times. I preferred this over listening to constant talking in my ear. Would highly suggest going with a guide the first time you visit!

When we returned to Rome from Venice the tour leader R*s*lla made a mistake placing the group on the train. She told us to switch places after we settled in our seats. We changed seats but Rosella raised her voice and started verbally attacking my wife because she seemed not satisfied with the seat change. Rosella embarrassed our group of five people in front of all other passengers on the train without any apparent reason. This behaviour spoiled the entire trip for us. I would not recommend this tour leader for anyone, so if you book a trip for Grey Line in Rome try to avoid her.

Venice is gorgeous and a must see, but between a poor sound system and thick Italian accent, our guide, although friendly, was not needed. Additionally, Viator should mention in the trip description when cover-ups are needed (ex. St. Peter's Basilica).
