Know More about this tour

In 1661, following Louis 14th orders, building started on what became the most prestigious residence amongst all the courts of Europe. The palace and gardens were designed by architects and decorators who are still famous today, such as Le Vau, Mansart and Le Notre.

During the coach drive to Versailles, you will be offered an audio commentary (available in French, English, Spanish, Germany, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Korean, Arabic, Russian, Greek, Japanese, Danish and Chinese-Mandarin) describing the various facets of court life under the reign of Louis 14th, the "Sun King". It will help you through the unguided visit to the Chateau and the gardens.

  • Disappointing. Two of our audio units didn't work properly and there was no one around after the units were handed out to remedy the problem. Therefore, two of our party of 4 just wandered around not knowing what they were looking at. The room descriptions and other displays left much to be desired and we didn't have an opportunity to visit the gardens and other areas outside the palace itself.

  • Half day tour to Palace of Versailles. Easy and comfortable way to get to Versailles by Coach. Did independent tour using headsets. Well worth visiting, just very busy in peak season. Give yourself enough time to visit the gardens before meeting the group back at the Coach.

  • Versailles palace was beautiful and we liked the skip the line and option to visit at your own pace with the audio tour. Our issue was when we picked up our ticket we were untold the gardens are NOT included. If we wanted to see the gardens we would have to purchase an additional ticket at the Palace. I showed the agent the booking that stated that the gardens we included. Her response Yes that is what it says, it's not included. Rather than stand and argue and hold up the line when it was clear this was not going to change anything, we took the tickets. This did not meet our expectation of what we thought we had purchased and that is the reason for our lower rating.

  • An ok visit to get onto the grounds and into the palace. Heavily crowded with tour groups pushing and shoving and stopping in the middle of everything to take a selfie. It was like the running of the bulls until the hall of mirrors and then it thinned out.

There is not enough time to walk the grounds or to go to Marie Antoinette's cottage. It's a quick few hours and basically the guide walks you to the gate and leave you to explore. Personally I think it was pricey for the experience it offered and especially when I discovered I go there on my own via RER. But, if you're in Paris for a short time and want to check off this box, it maybe worthwhile so you can back to the city in time for lunch.

  • Not worth it. Too expensive at almost 70, when you get transportation entrance for just 21 euros. Plus this is only for 4 hours, and that is not enough time to see a lot. I had to pay another 10 euros just to see the garden. Viator should publish this honest review to show its fairness.

  • Everything was good except it was very crowded inside. My fault really. A friend tried to tell me not to travel in August because everyone else is visiting at the same time. I didn't get much of a chance to utilize the audio guide because it was hard to stop and find a place in the various rooms to stop and listen to the commentary. The gardens, however, were spectacular. Plenty of room to move about and to spread out and find some quiet spot.

  • It was good. Just too crowded inside the palace. And once we were inside we had to rush a little bit especially if you are qith kids to be back on time to take the bus back. The rest was fine.

  • this was nice , but we really didn't time the buss got us there and was leaving in just a few hours. We did not get to see the garden it was NOT explained well at all. ask tons of questions before you purchase your tickets! I would not do this again.

  • Tour was informative, and left lots of time for wandering around.

  • This visit was important to me as 5 years earlier I wasn't able to go to visit this site. The tour was informative and the audio guide a valuable tool for enjoying the history of the various salons. With the number of visitors being controlled somewhat, you didn't feel like
you were being pushed and shoved around and able to take your time in getting the photos you desired. The hall of mirrors was the highlight for me. I thought that the tour I purchased included the garden tour, but it didn't. Other than for seeing the vast acres of land
and the garden layout, there wasn't much to see at that time of year. There were no flowers so no colour to add to the landscape. This
was late April, and although the rain was there to greet us, when departing the rain ended making walking and the ride back to Paris
