We were visiting New Orleans for a special occasion and had always wanted to do a Steamboat cruise. After doing some research we were impressed with the reviews for the Steamboat Natchez so went ahead and booked. We decided to treat ourselves to the VIP Dinner cruise with Private Tour and Open Bar option as it seemed not only the best experience but also the best value for money. Upon arrival at the jetty we were greeted by our host for the evening, Gina, who epitomised everything about Southern hospitality - she was warm, friendly, and went out of her way to make sure we had an evening to remember. We had priority boarding and enjoyed a champagne reception in a private area before being taken upstairs to listen to an amazing eight piece jazz band while enjoying a shrimp cocktail with cocktails, which Gina readily refilled. We were then taken downstairs for dinner served by Gina to our tables. The meal started with a chicken and sausage gumbo, which was followed by baked chicken and a seafood pasta, with a creole vegetarian jambalaya. Desserts were traditional New Orleans favourites Bananas Foster and white chocolate Bread Pudding. The food was absolutely delicious and was accompanied by an extensive and well thought out wine list. After dinner we were given a private tour of the boat by the Captain, which was fascinating and provided an insight to the history of the ship from its casino origins to its current incarnation and was compelling as well as fascinating, and a highlight of the evening. We then returned to listen to the jazz band while relaxing with drinks as a brilliant end to the evening. This was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip to New Orleans. The food was great, as was the selection and quality of drinks available, the jazz band performed a variety of tunes accompanied by a brilliant female vocalist and Gina was the perfect hostess who made a good experience superb. All in all it was a brilliant evening and the perfect conclusion to a great trip, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

Being met by the ships crew and treated like royalty from start to finish. Along with a great dinner and entertainment the evening cruise was a joy.

Well worth the VIP experience! The captains were great and so was Ellie! Best thing we did by far in NOLA.

GINA! This is more than a 5 star review of our trip but a love letter to GINA! If the stars align and your private hostess is GINA-you are in for a treat. Her exuberance is infectious, her southern charm is abundant and her attention to service is spot on. On our VIP trip she made sure we always had a drink in our hands and when she noticed my husband taking a sunset photo on the lower deck she said “grab your wife I have a perfect spot for a photo!” And the band -the lead singer sounds like Louis Armstrong-what a talented voice! The captain also was top notch his detailed history of the boat and River was amazing. And the food- some of the best we had in New Orleans and that is saying a lot. We will be back with friends . Don’t think twice about this trip❤️😊🚢

Gina -our hostess, the band, the captain and the food! All top notch but Gina was the best! Gina’s love for her job and the city was infectious! The VIP experience was well worth its cost. Yes you can do the paddle boat tour w/o the VIP experience- but don’t! Our happy memories in New Orleans will always be due to Gina! She is a NOLA gem❤️! We will be back xo

If you like cruising, having a good meal and listening to an awesome live jazz band, then this experience is for you. We have a group of 4 and it was well worth the cost. When we met our guide, Gina, she took excellent care of us. We were able to get our photos done, board, get our drinks and be seated at a reserved table well before the rest of the crowd. There are plenty of seats near the band, but not many tables, plus most seats are in the sun, so the shade was welcome. Gina even had fans for us since it was so warm! The band, The Dukes of Dixieland really kicked it up a notch. Fun, light jazz favorites most people would know. The private tour with the captain was as informative as it was fun. We toured the Riverboat City of New Orleans as the Natchez was not in service but he explained the differences between the two boats. Overall the drinks and food were very tasty but our guides, Gina and Marlon, are the true rock stars of the evening! They took care of everything from the time we boarded through drinks and dinner to picking up our gift bags at the end! Our son isn’t of drinking age, so they changed up the gift bag a bit to make it age appropriate by giving him a magnet to hold his copy of our photo. That attention to detail was above and beyond and made the night so special. Definitely worth a little extra than just the dinner cruise to get SO much more. A truly memorable experience for our first time in the Big Easy.
