Know More about this tour

Begin your tour with a pickup from your central Vienna hotel, Vienna Opera House, or the city’s Südtiroler Platz. Then, meet your expert guide and board your comfortable, air-conditioned coach for your city highlights tour.
Have your camera ready as you drive along the famous Ringstrasse boulevard, home to many of Vienna’s glorious buildings. Snap photos of the imperious Vienna State Opera as your guide explains its history and role as the home of the legendary ‘Opera Ball’, the annual Austrian society event.

Admire the grandiose Hofburg Palace, the former winter residence of the Hapsburg monarchs and birthplace of Marie Antoinette in 1755. Then, pass a roll call of other buildings, including the Museum of Art History, the neoclassical Austrian Parliament, Burgtheater and City Hall (Rathaus).

Continue to the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace, the 1,441-roomed Baroque summer residence of the Hapsburgs, including Marie Antoinette’s mother, Maria Theresa.

Head inside the UNESCO-listed palace and enjoy a guided tour of its extravagant staterooms to see how the royal family once lived. Then, enjoy free time to explore the gardens with their symmetrical terraces and fountains, or relax with a coffee or snack such as apple strudel (both at own expense) at the café.

Afterward, drive to the 18th-century Belvedere Palace, built by Prince Eugene of Savoy, whose upper palace houses a splendid collection of Austrian art, including Gustav Klimt’s Kiss, the highpoint of his ‘Golden Period.’

Enjoy discounted entry to view the collection or choose to enjoy free time instead. Then, rejoin your coach and end your tour with a drop-off back at Südtiroler Platz from where you can take an optional transfer to the State Opera.

  • very interesting tour

  • I would pass on this an instead do the Vienna Pass Including Vienna Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Ticket. The only advantage to this tour is that it includes a guided tour of the Palace. We also got the Vienna Hop on, Hop off with the Vienna Pass. The pass gets you into the Palace as well as over 50 other attractions in Vienna for free as well as the hop on, hop off bus.

  • A great package! Both Schonbrunn and Belvedere museums were wonderful!

  • Great combo! The city tour was highly informative and Schonbrunn was just enough. Gardens were beautiful.

  • Excellent experience! Take any of Viator's skip-the-line tours and you won't be disappointed. This was fabulous and the guide was knowledgeable and fun. Don't miss this one!

  • Great viewing.

  • This was a splendid tour, well organized and very informative guide.

  • So this was an awkward tour as our tour guide Karen got into an argument with customers on the bus. I don't know all the details, but the customers apparently got on the wrong tour bus and instead of telling the tour guide upfront there was miscommunication between them and things got heated. Karen is very knowledgeable, but in my opinion lacks the personality and patience to be a good tour guide. I don't care who makes an error - the tour guide should NEVER get into an argument with customers in front of everyone else. The tour itself was ok. Schonbrunn is a very opulent palace. You learn about Habsburg family and their influence all over Europe including their daughter Josephine who married Napolean. We went on a cold and rainy day so that dampened our mood so to speak. We drove by the Belvedere, but did not get to go in on as part of the tour. You do get discount tickets if you want to go see it on another day. This was my least favorite tour of Europe. I think by reading my review - you can see why.

  • This tour met two needs. Transportation and highlight tour of Schonbrunn Palace plus an overview tour of Historical Vienna. The crowd at the palace makes things a little confusing but our guide did a fine presentation. We left the tour at Belvedere Palace so we could have lunch and enjoy seeing the Art displayed there.

  • Beautiful palace with lots of interesting information. The emphasis was not so much on the city, however. If you want to get an overview of Vienna, itself, this isn't the tour.
