Itinerary:

The program of the Vienna Mozart Concerts is characterized by a very accurate selection of the works. The artistic conception giving ground to the musical sequence of overtures, arias, duets, movements of symphonies and concerts offers powerful insight in the titanic works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Performers
The Vienna Mozart Orchestra includes 30 musicians from the best Viennese orchestras; 2 opera singers (soprano and baritone) from the Vienna State Opera and Volksopera; and 1 soloist for piano, violin and flute.

Orchestra, conductor and singers perform in period costumes
Formerly the winter residence of the Habsburgs, the Hofburg has a unique situation among the great festive halls in Vienna. It was here that the Emperor entertained his guests. Modern technical systems, such as air-conditioning have been successfully integrated into this magnificent hall.

History of the Vienna Mozart Orchestra
The Vienna Mozart Orchestra was founded in 1986 by musicians from the best and most famous Viennese orchestras and from various chambers music ensembles. The artists all shared the aim of preserving the musical tradition and the cultural of Vienna by dedicating themselves to the cultivation and representation of symphonic chamber music of the Viennese Classical Period.

As the name Vienna Mozart Orchestra implies, the 30 musicians devote themselves exclusively to the works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the most accomplished representative of that period who, though born in Salzburg, found his home in Vienna. The orchestra's repertoire ranges from all of Mozart's symphonies to a great variety of his instrumental concertos (for violin, piano and wind) to arias and duets from his most famous operas.

  • Thought it was Fantastic

  • The concert hall was beautiful, the performance amazing. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

  • Excellent concert!

  • I was in Mozart Heaven! Great orchestra and conductor. Singers were good, but only had a soprano and baritone. I wanted to hear a tenor. I would add more singers, but enjoyed the concert. Musikverein is an AMAZING hall. Absolutely breathtaking. This is a must for Vienna! One of the encores had audience participation, where the conductor led the audience. I am a New Yorker, and that was a first for me! Highly recommend. Don't go to Vienna without doing this!!!!

  • Great seats for a wonderful concert. Terrific music, fun time. Don't miss this.

  • great concert, really enjoyed myself!

  • Who can visit Vienna without experiencing a Mozart Concert?? Just seeing the beautiful Musikverein was an experience in itself. Then listening to the musicians in their period attire was moving. I'm not a big fan of opera, however, so much preferred the pieces performed only by the orchestra. Also suggest not going your last night in Vienna when you are exhausted from travelling as the music is soothing and, like my husband, you might fall asleep.

  • This was a good experience, but does not compare to the small, church venues for basically the same type of music. The musicians were great. But, it's just my preference to listen in a more intimate atmosphere. This was a big concert hall, expensive tickets, and a whole lot of people who were really not all that interested.

  • You must do all you can to visit the Musikverein when in Vienna. I would even suggest you get in to see it without a concert if it's possible. Obviously if there is a concert on, don't hesitate, GO!!! An unforgettable experience. It does say on the tickets to be suitably dressed. My daughter and I actually went shopping for clothes and shoes for just this performance. We then donated the clothes etc and that added cost to the evening but nearly everyone does make an effort to dress well for the occasion so I'm glad we were suitably attired. Although it was very cold outside it is quite warm inside and the seating is very close. I needed a fan. A wonderful night. So delighted to have been.

  • Beatifull, a dream come true. Being in a concert in Vienna
