The highest peak in Vitosha Mountains – at its foot lies the city of Sofia – is easily accessible. It will take you not more than an hour and a half to escape from the city traffic and drive to Aleko Hut visiting Dragalevtsi Monastery en route.
From Aleko Hut, where you will leave our vehicle, the walk to the top will take about two hours, (+ 450 m). The slope is moderate, however you can choose a steep path if you prefer it and according to your wishes and abilities.
A marvelous view to Rila Mountains to the south and to Balkan Mountains to the north, is revealed from the top. A view to the city beneath will accompany you almost during the entire trekking. You can have lunch either at the small restaurant of the meteorological station at the top or at Aleko Hut.
This tour is run in the winter too as a snowshoeing tour at no extra cost!!
