Know More about this tour

Meet your tour guide and group at your predetermined meeting point in mid-afternoon. From there, follow your English-speaking guide to some of Rome's most iconic landmarks. Upon your arrival at the Colosseum, skip the line, and explore the largest amphitheater ever built by the Roman Empire. See where gladiators once fought as if you have stepped back into time. Next, move on to the ancient Roman forum, allowing your host to take you to the difference sites.

Listen, as you are told the background history and fun facts about each location. From there, venture on to the Altare della Patria, or, as its also known locally, the Monumento Nazionale or Vittoriano. The Vittoriano itself was built between 1885 and 1911 in order to celebrate the unification of Italy under King Vittorio emanuele II. The tour will come an end here at the Piazza Venezia.

The tour guide was the best tour guide I have ever experienced. He was knowledgeable, thoughtful, inclusive, answered questions, and was just a matter at his craft. The colosseum and the ruins included in the tour were of course a wonder to behold, but the guide transformed the tour into something extremely interesting. He inspired me to learn more and see the colosseum for the amazing place it is.

I did the Skip-The-Line Small Group Colosseum Tour with Forum, Palatine Hill & VR Experience with Lucilla (Lucy). This was my second tour with Fat Tire and I 100% recommend this company. Our group was small and Lucy was able to really get to know us and answer all our questions. She is also a great photographer so you can definitely get yourself a new profile picture!! The VR headset was also a really cool addition. Thank you so much for being a great guide Lucy. I wish I had more time in Rome so I could do more tours with you. Grazie mille!!!

We were lucky enough to get a ‘private’ tour as we were the only two in this group (due to it being in the off season) It was raining & really cold which made it a not so comfortable afternoon but we still had a fantastic time seeing these amazing sites!! Alice our tour guide was fantastic!! She was very so friendly & knowledgeable & happily answered all our questions even though the conditions were challenging & we had many questions!! We felt really bad for her to be out working in the horrible weather. To be able to walk on paths that Julius Caesar himself walked on was mind blowing!! The coliseum was breath taking!! We loved this tour!!

Bob was amazing, he gave us so much information and made sure we all enjoyed the tour.perfect day even with the rain and the forum closing early. Bob went above and beyond for us and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite arrive home drenched from the rain and the river that became the roman roman forum pathways. Bob is an asset to the tourism industry and if we ever come back for another holiday we hope he is running our tours.

This really was a great way to learn about the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Vittoriano or the wedding cake as it is known by Italians. Firstly you don’t have to que with the rest of the crowd and have your own wonderful guide who explains the history and can answer questions about these amazing sites. Alessandra was a wonderful guide who understood the quirky Aussie sense of humour. The gelato was a lovely break during a hot day also.

Marco was awesome! He really made the tour very interesting with his wealth of knowledge. I highly recommend this tour as the views from the top of the Vittoriano were amazing, and the colosseum is spectacular!
