St. Charles Church is one of the most impressive buildings in Vienna and the most important baroque church northern the Alps. It was finished in 1737. Four years later on July 28th 1741, Venetian composer Antonio Vivaldi died in Vienna and was buried just a few meters from there.
The Four Seasons are a set of four revolutionary violin concerts composed in 1725. Four sonnets are the inspiration of this masterpiece that takes you into a world of sound, with thunder and lightning, cracking ice and birdsong, a sleeping shepherd boy, hunting parties, and many other impressions.

We attended this concert in early December when the Karlskirche Christmas Market was operating. It made for a most enjoyable evening! The concert was in a gorgeous setting inside the church. It was cold, but blankets were provided. Nine musicians performed beautifully. The first violin performed without sheet music! They all played passionately for nearly 90 minutes. Loved it!
Magical music in a stunning venue, impeccably organised ... simply a perfect end to our Vienna trip ❤️
Beautiful setting for beautiful music. St. Charles church is stunning. The musicians were amazing and the acoustics were fabulous. We easily picked up our tickets at the church before the concert.
The acoustics were excellent and 4 seasons by Vivaldi truely came alive. The main violinist was incredible.
Unbelievable ensemble!!! World class performance! I have to see them again in my lifetime!!! Bravo! This orchestra is not to be missed!
St. Charles church was beautiful. Acoustics were very good. Orchestra was small 8-10 musicians but they kept it lively and fast paced. 75 minutes flew by. No singers or dancers but continuous music. Church was cold but they gave us blankets which worked. Overall great evening!
I don’t attend many orchestra performances. The music was fabulous. The musicians were superb. The location was magical!!
It was a very enjoyable experience! The orchestra were incredible and the venue was so beautiful . It was very easy to find and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Booked our tickets and therefore able choose our seats through: www.1756. (Not all booking services allowed you to choose your seat, only the section). On arrival, offered a blanket as cold inside, but not as cold as outside! Staff welcoming. Four other short pieces of music played before the Vivaldi. Excellent performance played with passion! An ovation and encore! Highly recommended! The church is worth a visit on its own merits, a beautiful building.
Fantastic. Excellent orcestra and fabulous surounding in a beutiful church. Very much recommended for all ages
