Know More about this tour

Explore the east side of Kauai as you kayak down the Wailua River, Kauais only navigable river for boats larger than kayaks. This 20-mile-long (32-km) river once wove through seven different ancient temples and is considered one of Hawaiis two most sacred places. As you paddle down the river with your partner in a double kayak, take in views of the expansive, untamed landscape.

After kayaking for 45 minutes, hop out of your kayak and follow your guide on a 1-mile (1.6-km) hike through the dense forest to a remote, 200-foot (60-meter) waterfall surrounded by flowers, brooks and ferns. Stand in awe as you watch the water cascade down into a pool, and cool off by taking a dip in the water!

You are then picked up at Hanalei bay and driven back to your start location.

It is an easy and great hike. So worth it to do it. The waterfall is beautiful and you can swim in it.

This was a wonderful and beautiful excu. Our tour guide Tyler was awesome. He was very knowledgeable about the trees and plants and very engaging. Great young man!!

The weather was perfect and Tyler our guide was amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an adventure.

Most people on the tour fell or slipped because it’s so muddy/rocky/stumps almost all the way to the falls. The only hike on the island where you need a walking stick. The waterfall was worse than all others on other islands..so windy and blowing into your eyes. You never got to enjoy the scenery for fear of falling on the way to/from the falls and the kayak trip was like a race so you couldn’t enjoy the scenery then. I will never take or recommend this excursion, even with a fun/friendly guide like we had.

This trip didn’t disappoint at all. Bring your sense of adventure and your Texas or water socks. There was mud on our day but all in all it added to the fun part and the memory. Scenery is beautiful and you’re well taken care of.

Truly amazing tour! Great guide with lots of local knowledge. The hike was moderately difficult, but so worth it to see the beautiful falls at the end. The lunch was great, too! Kayaking was lots of fun. I recommend this tour to everyone who visits Kauai.

Tyler was out guide for the trip. Very good explanation for proper kayaking techniques. Very knowledgeable of the area and safety was his primary concern. The kayaking was great. Once to the waterfall, it was perfect. Nice lunch provided. A definite must in Kaua’i.

This was our second time doing this tour. We enjoyed it better the first time as they have changed it a bit. Going down the canal was fun but one of the parts we enjoyed the most was after tubing we did a nice lunch by a lagoon where we got to swim around in and enjoy relaxing for about an hour. This is no longer part of the tour. You do get lunch, but it is not a relaxing lunch, it is more of a here is your food now eat and lets get back. Not sure I would do this again next time but do think doing it once is fun.

We had a great time. The river was calm, peaceful, easy to kayak. The hike was interesting, Phil was knowledgeable about the island, the trees, the water. Had a great time at the waterfall, it was COLD when you first got in, but got used to it quickly. Great pictures were taken. THEN DISASTER. The rocks were slippery, I fell, cracked my head on the rocks, caught my wrist between two rocks. All of the guides were at my side immediately. No blood, just lots of pain. One of the guests was a paramedic, he helped them splint and wrap my wrist properly. Ice and pain meds were given, i made my way up the hill, had a bit of lunch, and hiked back to the kayaks. Needless to say, I could not use the oars to get back. Phil had me move to his kayak. Left on plane the next day, got x-rays, yes wrist is broken, Surgery is Thursday to put a plate in my wrist to hold bone in position. Great excursion, horrible ending, but it was MY FAULT, not theirs. Enjoy yourself, but be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're practically on your own as far as safety.
Not enough guides to watch people.
