Explore the east side of Kauai as you kayak down the Wailua River, Kauais only navigable river for boats larger than kayaks. This 20-mile-long (32-km) river once wove through seven different ancient temples and is considered one of Hawaiis two most sacred places. As you paddle down the river with your partner in a double kayak, take in views of the expansive, untamed landscape.
After kayaking for 45 minutes, hop out of your kayak and follow your guide on a 1-mile (1.6-km) hike through the dense forest to a remote, 200-foot (60-meter) waterfall surrounded by flowers, brooks and ferns. Stand in awe as you watch the water cascade down into a pool, and cool off by taking a dip in the water!
You are then picked up at Hanalei bay and driven back to your start location.

Had excellent tour in November with Alealani she made it very special and enjoyed the whole tour package. She also showed us plant life and history. Very special. We wore what she suggested.

The trip was great. Informative and site seeing with a pleasant workout included! Alealani was our guide and she was awesome. She was knowledgeable and kept the trip fun. She also engaged well with our kids!

The tour was excellent! The kayaking was a great way to see the Wailua River and the hike to the waterfall was awesome. And the. Falls themselves were beautiful. Harrison is a fantastic, friendly and fun tour guide.

My wife and I had a beautiful day kayaking on the Wailua River and hiking through the jungle on our way to visit an incredible and sacred Hawaiian waterfall. Our guide Alealani shared many stories of Hawaiian folklore and interesting information about the local plants and animals along the way. She was so very thoughtful and kind. She gave instructive suggestions, provided assistance when needed, and helped us to understand and respect the Hawaiian culture. Be prepared for a physically challenging day though. We are in our late 60s and though we were spent at the end, it did not detract from our enjoyment of the day. This tour is an all around winner for anyone in reasonably decent shape.

Alealani is a super guide, very knowledgeable and helpful. My party of four (in our mid-sixties) had a great time. The hike was a little difficult due to a downpour during our tour (was muddy/slippery), but Alealani helped us through it. I'm not a strong swimmer but I felt safe and secure wearing a life vest. My husband swam out in the water to swim under the falls.

Walking through the muddy jungle was awesome. Kayak was fun hard for me but the waterfall was worth it!!

Alealani was an amazing guide. I enjoyed learning about the different plant species and local birds. The kayaking and hike were a beautiful experience. I would definitely do this tour again.

Participated in the River kayak and scared falls hike with Jonah. I had a feeling this was his first trip as a guide but I think he did great for his first time. Pleasant paddle and nice little hike along the river to the falls.
