Know More about this tour

From time immemorial, people from Toledo used to dig the solid rocks of the city with different aims: water supply, refuges during wars, secret passages, construction of thermal baths and tunnels. This gave rise to many legends over the centuries which, in some cases, contained historical and known information and in some other cases they tried to explain unexplainable aspects.
Over the years, some of these forgotten subterranean spaces have been valued and can be visited nowadays. Thanks to the Consorcio de la ciudad de Toledo (Consortium of the City of Toledo) the official guides of the city and all the person interested in this special tour are allowed to enter into these unique spaces. El pozo de El Salvador (El Salvador´s Well), la Casa del Judío (Jew´s House), las Termas Romanas y los baños árabes del Cenizal y el Caballel (Roman Thermae and Arabic Baths of El Cenizal and Caballel) are the exclusive, secret and mythic spaces to which we will go down with all of you walking around the city of Toledo.

  • My husband and I really enjoyed this walking tour. Our guide Lucía was very knowledgeable and well prepared - besides, she was obviously very proud of the city she chose to live in many years ago having moved from Madrid, which was very charming. She took us to some historical sites that were somewhat off the beaten path where we were the only visitors - like the small and fascinating Mosque Christo de la Luz, and the medieval home of a wealthy Jewish family, to which she had a special key so we could access it. After the 3-hour tour was over, she gave us many good tips about other places we could visit until the time our train departed back to Madrid. There was only one flaw in this walking tour: it took us a while to recognize our guide in the meeting point at the Zocodover square, for she was carrying a sign actually, a yellow umbrella with the name of an agency we had never heard of. On the other hand, our names written wrong on a piece of paper she had with her, so we just stood there at the square, side by side, eagerly waiting for the right people to show up, when we could have started the tour at the appointed time. But the tour itself was simply delightful - highly recommended!

  • It was a very hot day in Toledo. Our tour guide was sensitive to our needs, personable and knowledgeable.

  • This was a very interesting tour and Samuel my guide was excellent. He was very informative about Toledo and I learned a lot. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about Toledo and what they are seeing there.

  • This was a fantastic way to learn the complex history and see so much beneath the story. We also got a Toledo card for viewing the inside of the cathedral. This combination was perfect. Thank you Antonio.
