Know More about this tour

Located on beautiful Santorini, the Wine Museum Koutsoyannopoulos provides a wealth of information about wine making in one of the most unique places on Earththe Greek Islands.

Visit the museum to explore its historical exhibits and learn about what life was like as a winemaker here. This one-of-a-kind museum is nestled in a cave, creating a natural labyrinth 26 feet (8 meters) below ground and 984 feet (300 meters) long. It took the family who started the museum 21 years of hard work, patience, and perseverance to complete the wine museum in this remarkable location, and you can find out for yourself if it was all worth it.

The family started the museum to share their passion and love for tradition and great wine making. As 4th-generation winemakers, they are proud to continue producing high-quality wines with methods passed down through decades of dedicated wine production. Throughout the museum, you'll see many representations of what life was like for vineyard-growers dating all the way back to the 1600s. While on the tour, you'll listen to narration through your provided automatic audio guide or a guidebook.

See the stages of the winemaking process, including plowing the vineyards and the harvesting, stomping, and weighing of the grapes. You can also learn about the machinery and tools from the past to the present. At the end of the tour, you are invited to try four of the best wines made at the family's winery in the specially made wine-tasting area. This was a cool experience! Learning about the history of wine making on the island, and in general was great. It's a well oiled museum machine, and the wine tasting at the end ties it all together. A nice stop on a wine tour day in Santorini.

This tour had a lot of information, and it was really cool that it was all underground. The only thing I wished for was a real live tour guide, as they provide you with a handheld speaker, and when you type in the number of the exhibit it provides information that way. The wine was delicious, though, and the folks who worked in the tasting room were so kind and told us a lot about the family history of the winery.

The tour was fascinating - both being underground in a cave and the displays of the workings of the winery -I have never been anywhere like it. Sampling the wines with a few nibblies was most enjoyable. I would highly recommend thistour to anyone. Even familieas as children would love the underground displays. Great! N Kannavas - Australia
