This was a well executed tour. Our guide, Tomas, was highly personable and professional. His English was excellent and commentary interesting.
The bikes were in great condition. The wine-tasting stops were interesting .
Overall it was a fun way to spend the day. I highly recommend this tour!
Jens was a great guide! He kept it fun and interesting and was able to make a group of strangers feel like friends. And of course the scenery and wine were superb! I would definitely do this one again!
This was a tour that we had been looking forward to for months. Our expectations were high, and the experience exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide, Hugo, was smart, funny, and organized. He explained each wine in great detail which only added to the experience. He took time so talk with each of us individually which made us feel like a large family. I would highly recommend this tour and, of course, Hugo.
We had an amazing time with Jan biking through the Wachau Valley! Tour is well thought-out - we met at a very reasonable hour (unlike many other tours), took the subway and train together to a garage where the bikes were stored. The scenery here is amazing!! At the first winery we were surprised how much wine they gave us to try and we actually ended up buying some to bring home. Pack light because this a great place to get wine and other things like apricot liqueur and jams. Lunch was great and quick - we even had time to run up to the castle ruins which was an amazing view but I do think we missed out on some shopping. The second winery is beautiful and though we liked the wine less than the first stop, it was still a great stop! The biking is pretty leisurely, and mostly on protected bike lanes. We definitely felt safe the entire time. Our group was great and pretty small (~8) so we got to know everyone and really just had the best day. We were a little early so we had time to stop for ice cream on the way back, too!
Special shout out to Jan who was an amazing guide! He is so intelligent, informed, and curious - the absolute best traits in someone leading you for the day.
From riding the train to bike riding to wine tasting everything was great and most definitely worth the price. Tomas was a fantastic guide and I'd recommend the experience to anyone who likes traveling and drinking wine. It was a lot of fun.
We can't imagine a lovelier way to explore the Danube than by cycling in the sun and drinking wine! The ride was around 26km which was quite comfortable. Our group was only 12 people which was a nice number and our guide Stefan spent the whole day with us and made it very enjoyable. We definitely recommend!
As many reviews have stated, Iolo is a very good guide on this tour and makes it well worth your time. He is very knowledgeable about the area and a very energetic proponent for what makes it interesting to visit. He also does a good job of circulating among the cyclists to make sure everything is OK and engage a little bit, as well as making sure at any directional change along the route to stop to make sure everyone is accounted for. We enjoyed the wines and the places he chose, the cycling is pretty easy for the most part but a few people did fall a little behind so I suppose it was a little bit challenging. The climb to the old castle was far more challenging, mostly in that it was a sweaty endeavor on a hot day! The small cities along the Danube are beautiful, as is cycling through the grape vines, so I think there will be a little something for everyone.
Hugo was a wonderful guide- friendly and personable, but also completely on the ball. The day was delightful and ran completely smoothly.
Great bike trip, everything went cery smoothly! Iola was so enthusiastic, friendly, entertaining and knowledgeable. I would definitely request him. Fabulous trip !
Amazing! Our guide, Seline, was really nice. The route was beatiful and easy to bike. The day was beatiful!
