This was a really great day out. Bill our tour guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. The vehicle was extremely comfortable. The sights were unbelievable, lucky to have in our own country. Much better to do the tour than try to navigate on your own and the commentary along the way was really interesting too. Tip : it gets a little cool up there later in the day so a light jacket is worth packing.
Approximately 14 out of 16 seats taken and I was sitting next to someone who took up half my seat. I had my knees close together and my head inside my shirt because this person kept coughing every minute and the person to my left was also coughing every minute. These two were together and were clearly sick. They should have been asked to leave and got their uber paid for or shouldn't have been allowed on the tour. No one else cared because they weren't sitting besides both of them. There was a guy sitting at the back coughing with a mask on. How are these people even allowed on the tour. I regret not leaving half way and calling an uber home. I was in pain after sitting with my knees so close together and holding my breath. I told the driver at the stop and he moved those two sick people together but still my elderly mother and myself are still close to them. I got asked to swap seats with an empty seat in the back but that was next to a gentlemen coughing wearing a mask. I just don't want to sit next to someone who is clearly sick or someone who takes up half your seat. I'm not trying to get people not to book with this company just letting you know if you sit next to a stranger because the tour is nearly full you might have half a seat or the person might be sick. I have had more room on a jetstar flight than this Mercedes Benz. I did tell the driver and asked if I could sit next to him. And he said yes. I asked if my mother could sit next to him so she doesn't get sick and he said yes. But he said there is only one extra seat at the front. And then when he came back he said he moved the two sick people together. I don't understand why two people coughing every minute and a person at the back wearing a mask coughing would be allowed on a tour bus with no windows. I know you didn't know they were sick when you picked them up but they were coughing every minute and were from the same party so clearly they were sick. I know covid protocols are more relaxed these days but having someone on each side of you coughing every minute and taking up half your seat is a bit extreme to allow on your tour. I did also mention to the driver the person was coughing without covering her mouth. I deeply regret not asking to be let out so I can order an uber and go home. It is highly unfair for my mother and I who were sitting closest to the sick people. It was an absolute nightmare and I couldn't wait to get off. I honestly couldn't sleep that night my mum and I were both frustrated and horrified at our experience. We both now have a sore throat. I am in so much pain that night for putting my knees together because the girl next to me took up half my seat. The vehicle isn't ideal if you have to sit next to someone who takes up half your seat and is sick. I am currently feeling so sick and my mother as well. This all could have been avoided if the passenger was removed. I would have brought a mask but I didn't expect someone sick to go on a tour in a van with 14 people. Southern Cross Tours have ruined the last few days of my holiday at The Gold Coast. I am feeling horribly sick as well as my mother from being stuck next to two people who were unwell.
Had a great time with my little family on our first trip as a family and to the Gold Coast! Learned so many facts about the area through our tour guide Paul who was very passionate about his ‘backyard’ and made our experience very comfortable especially with a 6 month old on board. I gave this 4 stars only because of the weather which did affect some of the lookouts, however highly recommend for tourists and advice if travelling with infant like we did, be well prepared and consider weather! Thank you Southern Cross for an unforgettable experience :)
The natural surroundings, rainforest and varied landscapes were a pleasant change from the coastal experience. Bill the tour guide was enthusiastic and had great knowledge especially of botany and landforms. Be prepared for cooler conditions to the coast and for rain if the forecast predicts the possibility. I should have worn more layers as it was already drizzling on the coast before we left. But the wet conditions didn't diminish the various waterfalls especially Natural Bridge.
The tour guide Andy was very knowledgeable on the features we passed along the way to the Natural Bridge and the various waterfalls and lookouts. Our first stop was the Natural Bridge and we were able to see the waterfall from three vantage points. The other attractions on the tour were the Purling Brook waterfall, the Best Of All lookout where the outline of the Gold Coast could be seen in the distance, the Canyon lookout and the waterfall from the cliff edge. We were also fortunate to see pademelon wallabies, a python seeking the sun to warm itself on the rocks and kangaroos on the golf course. There were tourists with varying levels of fitness and Andy was mindful of this when conducting the tour. Overall it was a most enjoyable tour and I would highly recommend this for anyone wishing to experience something different when visiting the Gold Coast.
We booked Springbrook and Natural Bridge tour. There was an interruption at the start out of our control, so Marc had to take us elsewhere. He did a good job. The tour followed up with good customer service.
The waterfalls view are breathtaking! It is indeed a great experience! The tour is great and relaxing.
Did the tour to natural bridge and the waterfalls today. Marc was professional, funny and made the afternoon an enjoyable experience. A little more time at the waterfalls for self exploring would be beneficial, but it is of no fault to the tour guide who has time restraints.
Marc Waa great- he was funny, had alot of knowledge and explained things in details. Wish we could skip great canyon and spend more time on natural bridge
This experience was the best thing I’ve done in the Gold Coast. Surreal forest with amazing waterfalls. Very friendly staff. I would highly recommend!
