Overview

Graffiti is still illegal, yet graffiti artists now use spray paint to create beautiful murals across the world. If you are inspired by murals and curious about spray paint, this graffiti experience is your opportunity to try spray paint and see if you could be a mural artist. You will work in a mural-filled environment, and you will walk away with your own artwork. Kids are welcome to join.

Itinerary:

When you arrive for the Wynwood Graffiti Experience, we will have a large canvas panel set up along with a table-full of spray paint of all colors. Masks and gloves will be on hand for personal protection. Although we rarely have issues with ruining clothes, it is best to come in something something comfortable that you won’t mind having a few paint dots on. We will take you step by step through the basics of using spray-paint. We start with the very basics: how to hold, angle and handle the spray can and manipulate the pressure and length of the spray to paint dots of different sizes, lines of different widths, and to write letters. Then we move on to some more complex skills, like creating a drop shadow, making backgrounds and patterns, and doing a color gradient. After going through the skills of the lesson, you will have time to experiment on your own and compose an original artwork. Our facilitator will be there to give guidance and tips, and to answer questions while working alongside you. *Please note the activity no longer includes a take-home art paper.

What a fun experience to enjoy with my artistic child! My son, 6 years old, is obsessed with all things art! What a great way to spend Mother's Day than learning how to spray paint! It was a bit tricky for his little hands to maneuver the cans, but he had fun with it! They had 3 large canvases set out for the group to go wild on! It was a little on the pricey side, but I still think we will go back! Next time, I may just set him loose and watch! Thank you to Emily, the artist, for being so great! Oliver was so pumped to learn a new art medium that he gifted the artist with a canvas :-)

We got this tour as a gift through Virgin Experience Gifts. The confirmation on our voucher stated that we should meet at 12:45pm at 300 NW 26th street. We were there at that time and no one showed up to guide us.I emailed Virgin Experience and reported what happened and told them to call me. Someone called me soon after and said that Trip Advisor told us to meet at the wrong address. He said the tour guide would bring the group to us which he did.The guide was named Ivory and he gave a fun and informative tour.

Dont think twice... book this experience! Orestes is a class guy. The set up is safe, professional, and fun. My kids (12,9) had a blast, got a little bit of paint on them, and were smiling the whole time. GREAT TIME !

We did the tour with Ivory who was knowledgeable about graffiti artists and gave us recommendations of movies to watch to learn more about graffiti artists. I really enjoyed the tour.

Wow! What a fantastic tour we were given by our guide Lance. We were not sure going into this tour if it was worth the money. It seemed fairly expensive for the four of us. Well.....I can say with sincerity I would pay double to get this tour again. Lance was extremely well versed in the art form and knew the artists, often personally, and could provide information that we would never have gotten just walking around on our own. This tour was for my daughters 17th birthday and she wants to be an art teacher in the future. Lance really treated her like gold and gave her his personal attention way above the call of duty. I was fascinated by something I had previous thought of as just "kids spraying paint". It is so much more than that. Lance gave us the history of the art form and how it has transformed into today's examples of the street graffiti form. Do yourself and your group a favor and book this tour prior to walking the neighborhood. It will make your trip son much more informative and special. Thank you Lance! Mark, Sue and Erin from Stuart, Fl.
