Leave the beach crowds behind for a full-day tour to the south coast of Jamaica, where you'll visit the Appleton Estate's rum distillery, and take a cool dip in the clear waters of YS Falls. YS Falls is one of the most natural and beautiful spots you will find in Jamaica. A spectacle, boasting a magnificent seven-tiered cascading waterfall and an expansive wading pool fed by underground springs. A recent addition to YS Falls is a canopy zipline tour which lets you "fly" up to 40 feet above the waterfalls. Our next stop is Appleton Estate, the oldest sugar estate and distillery in Jamaica. This tour provides you with an inside look at the process of making rum, one of Jamaicas most famous export. At the end of the tour you are given the chance to sample the various liqueur that are produced at the distillery. The ride up to the Estate is just as awesome. We take you through the rural towns of southside Jamaica, the naturally preserved side of the island.

  • Enjoy a day away from the hustle and bustle of the city
  • Excellent value for money
  • Step back in time on a history tour
  • Free drinks included

We absolutely loved our tour of YS Falls and Appleton Estate Distillery. Das drove us from Montego Bay to both locations, and provided us with a lot of stories and information about Jamaican history and culture along the way. I would recommend this tour to anyone, you'll have an excellent day.

Amazing time! Our driver Das was awesome, would highly recommend this experience. We had a ton of fun at both locations and felt there was plenty of time at each.

Das was an excellent driver and tour guide! He was fun, accommodating, and very knowledgeable and the tours that we did were awesome!

Driven by Das! Similar to the other reviews, extremely knowledgeable and talkative. Always had something valuable and interesting to discuss based on the local culture, surrounding area and even the history and politics of Jamaica and it's place in the Caribbean. The drive was relatively sketchy at times (not because of das!) just because of road quality and size. With that being said, das was always a courteous and safe driver, we didn't once actually feel concerned, something we were very surprised at given similar trips we had taken on similar roads! The views to Appleton and YS can be absolutely stunning also so make sure you're paying attention! As for the attractions, YS is lovely and relaxing. A smaller and more intimate set of waterfalls and fresh water natural pools. The ambience and vibe is very relaxed, natural and traditional. Great jerk chicken also which is wonderful. The Appleton estate is a very professional affair. Clearly focusing their energy on providing for tourism. The tour was well rehearsed and usually around 25-30 people per group, but the discussions still felt very intimate with the guides being very knowledgeable. My only wish is that they had the 21 Yr or private bin available. The tasting only includes the signature, 8 and 12 years. The shop is a good 20% cheaper than local UK prices, so great for a good stock up. If you want to take advantage of road side jerk or plantain, make sure you book for a weekend, where road side bbqs are more prevalent, even then there was the option to stop for local fish and shrimp. Overall we both really struggled to find any critique of the day. It is very long, leaving at 0830 we got back at 1800, not that that is a criticism of the trip, it's absolutely worth the duration and das made the long drives fly by with his commentary and discussion. We enjoyed ourselves so much we would ask for das to drive us again!

Amazing experience! We started our trip with coconut (my favorite)! Lol, YS Falls is soo beautiful. I love how it wasn't crowded. They recommend getting a guide to walk you through the falls, so we did, and he did NOT disappoint! He got the best pictures and videos without us noticing it most of the time. We lounged in the pool after we did the falls, and it was super relaxing. After we went to the Appleton Estate for a rum tasting experience - very informational & it included complimentary welcome drinks. (Everyone was buzzed by the time the tour started). It was a full day of fun! Our driver was Das, and he was friendly and super helpful.

Dasayev, aka Das, was our tour guide for the day and he made a two hour long drive to our destination pleasant. He is welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about Jamaica, history, culture, the towns, and has an interesting background from experiencing different cultures to share. We learned so much from him! The drive mainly took place on the mountains where you will get to experience the rural side of Jamaica. Very windy roads but Das is an experienced driver and I felt safe with him. Just keep in mind of the windy roads that you will experience, also make sure you use the restroom because there are basically no stops available except this one little gas station where you might want to bring your own toilet paper and hamd sanitizer just in case lol. YS falls was very beautiful and relaxing, despite the brown water from all the rainfall previous day. Had the water been more calmer we would have played in the water but we opted for the relaxing pool and just enjoyed the views for a couple hours. Then we headed to the rum factory which was very interesting. I learned a lot about rum from Peter who was very passionate about it. The experience was interactive and provided lots of little samples and souveniers for us! We received complimentary drinks with our admission. I'm pregnant and the bartender even made me a delicious mocktail! We got to keep the cup, and rain poncho (it was raining), samples sugar cane, drink the juice and sample molasses, and ended with rum tasting (gave mine to my husband). After, you get to shop at the giftshop which is reasonably price and have lunch from the cafe. The jerk chicken was pretty good and decently priced, we didn't have time to sit and enjoy so we took it to go and ate it on the way back. The tour was a very long day but very adventurous! Only recommendation I would make is to maybe edit the details of this tour such as complimentary water/drinks and maybe plan for this to be a trip a bit longer than expected. Overall, great experience and you will not regret it!
