The guide Josua was extremely good. The ruins are really worth seeing and the monastery was very interesting. The guide modified the tour for my physical needs as the caves were not something that I was able to do. The lunch was very good. A tour worth taking!

The only reason I gave this tour 4 stars and not 5, is that we diverted from the planned itinerary and so I don't want to misrepresent our experience as being exactly what others might purchase. Yet this was part of what made this tour a great success. Along with me, there were only two other people on this tour. Our wonderful guide - the fabulous Jose pronounced, ho-sway was sensitive to the specific interests of the three of us and so, for example, when none of us wanted to spend much time exploring in caves, was able to make great alternative suggestions. As a result, after Mayapan - excellent ruins - we ended up visiting a series of towns along the convent route. Jose was able to provide us with informative background information, gave us space to explore at our own pace, yet didn't waste our time. Lunch was delicious, and the day became a great opportunity to see real life in Yucatan towns. I would recommend that Viator create a convent route tour - would be a good addition to its menu of choices.
