When you are in a foreign city for travel, one of the trickiest thing to do is to plan a day-wise itinerary. The first reaction of most travelers after researching about what all they can do in the city is to be overwhelmed. But there is a process, and some useful tips that you can use to make day-wise planning easy and fun! Here are some essential points that can help you.

Plan the Outline of the Tour

Make a list of what all you would like to see in the city. Check the number of days that you are going to be there, and categorize all the sites into ‘priority’ and ‘otherwise’. Don’t forget to include all the experiences that you would want to have, for instance a cooking workshop, a beer tour, a walking tour and even the nightlife! Let other entertainment places like restaurants, clubs, shopping malls and flea markets be a part of this plan. Plan your travel with travel itinerary planner

Go Region-Wise

After planning all the things that you want to see and do, categorize them based on their location. Take the map of the entire city and mark all the places. Go region-wise and map a route that can seamlessly take you to all the sites. Consider the maximum time that you will spend at any particular site, and include the time taken for commute too.

Take one Day at a Time

After mapping them, the next step is to spread them across all the days. Take one day at a time and dedicated it to a particular region. Try and plan the start of the day from the farthest point and move towards your hotel so you can have the evening to yourself. Occasional breaks and leisure time must be included. Try and keep the evenings free so that you can explore the eateries and the nightlife of the city.

Don’t Overstuff

Avoid including all the things that you want to see. After prioritizing, be ready to give up on certain sites in case time doesn’t permit. Overstuffing the itinerary may also lead to delays, tiredness, and fatigue, which are contradictory to your reason to travel.

Don’t Plan by the Minute

Don’t plan each and every minute of the day. In fact, just make a list of what all site are there in a particular region, and set out, and plan as you go! Don’t be in any hurry, and be flexible, who knows, maybe there is a better experience waiting for you than the one you have planned. You wouldn’t want to miss that.
