Day 1 In Almora

Start off 48 hours in Almora by visiting the Kasar Devi temple. This is a prime attraction of town and is supposed to date back to the second century. It became more popular after Swami Vivekanand performed some serious spiritual practices here for several years. Then head towards Katarmal Sun Temple. This is the second most important temple dedicated to Sun God after the Konark Sun Temple in Odisha. It was built some 800 years back and is a spectacularly sculpted architecture. After having lunch head towards the Bright End Corner. This is a place which offers panoramic views of the surroundings. Looking at the majestic Himalayas from this scenic site will leave you stunned. You may also visit one of the many meditation centers located in this area. Known to have the best sunrise and sunset vistas, you must not leave this place before the sun sets in the west. If time permits, you may also visit the Vivekananda Memorial which was erected since Swami Vivekananda experience a good human act at the place.

Day 2 In Almora

On your second day in Almora, make your way down to Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. It is located about 33 kilometers away from Almora. The sanctuary was established in 1988 and is home to around 200 bird species and many types of trees. While you are here, do stop at the Zero Point which offers breathtaking vistas of the Himalayan peaks. After spending half your day at the sanctuary, return back to walk the cobbled streets of Lala Bazaar. This is a great place to get an insight into the local life and also buy some souvenirs. If time permits, you may visit a few temples that are frequented by the localities.
