Day 1 to 4: City Exploration
We suggest you start your day 1 of the 7D/6N Budapest trip by first visiting the Chain Bridge. Built over River Danube, this is Budapest’s first permanent stone-bridge connecting Pest and Buda. From here you can enjoy views of many important sites in Budapest, the most well known being the Parliament Building. Back in the Buda side of the city, next visit the Buda Castle. Other attractions located nearby are Budapest History Museum and Fountain of the Fishing Children. Continuing the tour of the Castle Hill, next visit the Museum of Military History, Koller Gallery, and many more sites in the vicinity. In the evening of day 1 visit the Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church. On Day 2, head to the Pest side of the city. Here you can visit Vajdahunyad Castle in the morning, followed by a stop at the Museum of Fine Arts. Later make your way to the Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden. After a day full of exploring the area, you must be in need to relax. Head to the Széchenyi Thermal Bath in the evening. These baths were built in 1913 and have massive swimming pools & water jet massagers.
Start your day 3 by visiting the Hungarian Parliament Building. This Gothic Revival–style building is lavish and one of the landmarks on Budapest. There are many guided tours available that would take you inside the building to give you an even closer look at this architectural marvel. Later, take a leisurely stroll on the nearby Margaret Bridge before making your way to the Great Market Hall. The largest and oldest indoor market in Budapest, you can try some traditional Hungarian food here. Later walk to the Holocaust Memorial before making your way to Buda again. Here you can visit the Citadella. Located on top of the Gellért Hill, this fortress was built after the Hungarian Revolution was suppressed in 1848. On day 4, visit the Margaret Island and the Japanese Gardens before heading to Vörösmarty Tér for some shopping.
Day 5: Buda Hilla
On this day, head to the Buda Hills. Offering a variety of outdoor activities, the Libego is one of a kind experience. This two-way chairlift system ferries people between Zugliget and the lookout tower on János Hill. Along the way, you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the hills. In the evening, you can visit the Kossuth Lajos Square to enjoy some time with nature.
