How to see Cape Town in 4 days?
Day 1: Museum trail
Culture, entertainment, and fun come together at the many museums in Cape Town. On your day 1 of your 4 days in Cape Town. Start your museum trail by visiting the Iziko South African Museum – housing over one million specimens that brings together the world history. Next walk to the Bo-Kaap Museum that features the local Islamic culture. Koopmans-De Wet House is another interesting museum that is housed inside an 18th-century house. The South African Jewish Museum is another museum that features a collection dedicated to the Jewish culture. District Six Museum, The Springbok Experience, and Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa are a few more museums that you can add to your itinerary.
Day 2: Gardens
Let this day be reserved for peace and mindfulness. And thanks to the many gardens in Cape Town, you have a wide range of options to choose from. These gardens are filled with wondrous plants, flowers, and trees and exude a great magnitude of beauty. Start your day by visiting the Company’s Garden. This place has many memorials and monuments that are worth stopping at. After having spent a few minutes in the garden, head out to check the nearby places of interest. Rust En Vreugd, Cecil John Rhodes, Lion Street Heritage Staircase, and Bishop Robert Gray Memorial Statue are some of the monuments here. If you have some free time, you can also visit the Castle of Good Hope. After lunch, you can visit the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. Often called the most beautiful garden in Africa, this garden displays floral diversity like no other! This garden is also the largest botanical garden in South Africa.
Day 3: Cape Peninsula
Today, drive to the Cape Peninsula. This rocky and rugged peninsula is best known for the Cape of Good Hope. Surrounded by the protected wildlife reserve, this place has many picnic spots and nature walk trails. You can easily spend a day here exploring the nearby points of interest like Dias Beach, Old Cape Point Lighthouse, Cape Point Lighthouse, Cape Point National Park, Kleine Bucht, and Platboom Beach. On your way back to the city, visit the Boulders Beach to check out the many thousand magnificent penguins.
Day 4: Shark cage diving and shopping
Start your day with something that will pump up your adrenaline. Go shark cage diving. There are many scuba diving sites around Cape Town that will offer a good chance of shark sighting. After lunch, you can go shopping in the many shopping outlets. You can either choose from many shopping malls or go street shopping.
