Day 1 and 2 in Cape Town

Start off your first day in Cape Town from Table Mountain National Park. This gem of the city will occupy your entire day, allowing you to indulge in multiple activities like hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and much more. For those who want to skip the rigorous walk to the Table Mountain, you can opt for the Table Mountain Cableway. Also, make a stop at the Boulders Beach to witness a large colony of penguins.

On your way to the Table Mountain National Park, there are a few stops worth making that include the Kirstenbosch Gardens, Kalk Bay, Cape of Good Hope, and many more.

On your next day, you go sightseeing by choosing a hop on and hop off bus tour. This tour will take you to the beautiful places in the city, enabling you to explore Cape Town thoroughly. At the end of the day, you can relax at one of the beautiful beaches in Cape Town.

Day 3 and 4 in Cape Town

Reserve your third day in Cape Town for some wine tasting. Head towards the towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek that have a plethora of wine estates. You will require a wine route map which you can collect from the tourism office. Hop from one winery to another, taste the finest of wines, and have a good lunch at any of the winery restaurants. The picturesque scenery while driving to the towns is a bonus.

You may also visit the Cheetah Outreach Program en route the towns. You may even make a stop at the museums accommodated in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

On your fourth day, make a day trip to Hermanus which is about 120 kilometers away from the city of Cape Town. Hermanus is rated to be one of the top 12 whale watching destinations. While you may watch these whales from a distance, you may also choose a tour that would let you get up-close with the beastly marine life. You may also visit a couple of museums that are located in this small seaside town.

Day 5 in Cape Town

End your 5 days in Cape Town by taking a ferry to Robben Island. Here, visit the prison which housed Nelson Mandela and many other political prisoners. You can easily spend half of your day on this island. Return back and head towards the V & A Waterfront which has many museums, stores, and restaurants.

While you can indulge in some shopping time, you can also treat your taste buds to some good food at any of the restaurants here. If time permits, you may also fit in a shark cage diving experience in your last day.
