How to spend 1 day in Casablanca?

Morning

Start your 24 hours Casablanca tour with first visiting the Royal Palace of Casablanca. This palace is one of the masterpieces of Islamic architectures and the surrounding orange groves and elaborate water feature only add to its charm. The King’s principal Casablancan residence, the tourists here can get a glimpse of the palace’s ornate gates, its spectacular façade, and well laid-out gardens. Next, walk to Quartier Habous (Habous Quarter). Known for its atmospheric vibe, this district is famed for its tree-lined squares, old-fashioned alleyways, and elegant arcades where you can take a relaxing stroll. For some tasty Moroccan meals, you can stop at Restaurant Zayna along the Rue Ibnou Khaldoun.

Afternoon

After lunch, visit the Old Medina of Casablanca and step back in time. This district has the last vestige of pre-20th century Casablanca in the form of remains of the historic quarter, remnants of the city walls, and an 18th-century fort. Take a walk along the cozy lanes of this district and visit its sprawling souk. Here you can shop for linens, brass-work, local handicrafts, and leather goods. After taking your time exploring the historic part of the city, visit the Hassan II Mosque. With a capacity of over 100,000 worshippers, this is one of the world’s largest mosques. One of the city’s top attractions, this mosque was built to celebrate the 60th birthday of former Moroccan King Hassan II.

Evening

In the evening, take a leisurely drive along Ain Diab Corniche. This scenic promenade is lined by some of the city bets hotels on one side and the seafront of Casablanca on the other. The 3km-long Corniche Boulevard offers expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean and is perfect to visit during sunset. After dark, this area turns into a hub of Casablanca’s nightlife with many nightclubs and restaurants.
