Day 1 In Chiang Mai

On the first day of your trip, you will take a tour of the famous monuments and temples of Chiang Mai. You can start this day by visiting the historic Tha Phae Gate which is a preserved gate of the city dating back to the ancient time. Just a 15 minutes’ walk from this gate is the Buddhist temple called Wat Chiang Man. The elephant statues and beautiful gardens of this 13th-century temple are worth to spend some time at. Walk for the next 10 minutes and you will reach another Buddhist temple called Wat Pa Pao. You can visit more temples in the afternoon such as Wat Chiang Yuen and Wat Lok Moli that are known for their colorful murals and towers. For the day’s meal, you can head to Pratu Chang Phueak where apart from a historical landmark, you will find a busy food market.

One of the best things to see during your 48 hours in Chiang Mai is the Three Kings Monument. The bronze sculptures of Kings Mengrai, Ramkamhaeng, and Ngam Muang are worth-admiring. At evening, you can hop around the places like Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang. The old chedi and pillars of this 15th-century temple complex are something you would love to capture in your camera.
