Here is a concise idea of how your Chicago Itinerary 6 days could look like

Day 1 and 2 in Chicago

On the first two days, you can tour the shoreline and all the tourist places that are set along it. These are some must visit places on the coastline of Chicago.

• Shedd Aquarium

Acting as a home to 32,000 animals of 1,500 species, Shedd Aquarium is one of the top marine centers in the country. Since it is located on Lake Michigan, it has been able to create a close to home habitat for all its residents. It has approximately 8 exhibits, with a rotating special exhibit.

Buckingham Fountain, Grant Park: The landmark of the city that marks the center of the famous Grant Park, Buckingham Fountain is famed to be one of the largest fountains in the world. Decorated with twinkly lights in the winters, the fountain operates all year round, except during the cold.

• Millennium Park

One of the city’s largest civic centers, the Millenium Park has fountains, gardens, theatres, pavilions, galleries, promenades and more such centers that make it a popular hub amongst artists, musicians, travellers and students.

• Lake Michigan

With its shoreline shared by 4 states, Lake Michigan is one of the five Great Lakes of the country. It also has a number of ports spread across all the states, and one of them is Chicago. Waterfront activities like boating can be enjoyed here.

• Navy Pier

Best visited during the evening, the Navy Pier is known for many reasons, the most popular one being the nighttime fireworks during the summers. One of the top free things to do in the city, it must be included in your plan!

• Chicago Children's Museum

Currently, the fourth largest children’s museum in the country, Chicago Children’s Museum was established in the year 1982. Art and craft, building and climbing and experiencing the simple concepts of science and business is what this museum aims at.

• Lincoln Park Zoo

Spread over 35 acres, Lincoln Park Zoo is home to a number of animals including the big cats, gorillas, monkeys, penguins and other birds, and reptiles. With more than 15 exhibits, it is no wonder that it is one of the most loved places in the city.

• North Avenue Beach

Boasting of being one of the upscale beaches of the state, North Avenue Beach also has the largest team of lifeguards. With all kinds of activities available for all, it also has a wonderful array of restaurants.

Day 3 in Chicago

There are many more important places for you to visit, that lie in the vicinity of the above-mentioned places. Dedicate the third day to the same region and pay a visit to John Hancock Center, Lookingglass Theatre Company, Cloud Gate, The Art Institute of Chicago, and The Field Museum.

Day 4 and 5 in Chicago

• Wrigley Field

One of the most famous sites, this is a must visit for every sports lover. Catch a game here, and you are sure to have one of the best vacations in Chicago!

• Holy Name Cathedral

One of the most gorgeous churches in the city, the intricate interiors make it spectacular during the evenings, when the entire place is lit up. Since it lies on the way, you can pay it a quick visit.

• Oriental Theatre

catch a film or a play here. One of the oldest, best kept theatres of the city, you can spare some time for entertainment here!

• Rookery Building

Built in 1885, this building is the oldest tall structure of the city. Its significance is great, and tourists throng it to see the Frank Lloyd Wright lobby.

• Willis Tower Skydeck

Giving the sweeping views of the city and the lake, the Skydeck is one of the most interesting places to visit. While during the day, there are many activities for you to do, the night sees this place come alive!

• Museum of Science and Industry

• Chinatown

A step into China, China town stays true to its name, with traditional architecture, food, shops, and people. Spend an entire morning or afternoon here and indulge in this cuisine.

Day 6 in Chicago

Spend the entire day strolling through the different neighborhoods and lanes to taste the most delicious local food, and splurge on some fancy labels. Head to the Magnificent Mile for the best shopping experience. Also, explore the different neighborhood boutiques and flea markets. You can start the day with the farmer’s market, and roam around to get to the Mag Mile by night so that you can get a glimpse of the buzzing nightlife of the city here too!
