What to see in 3 days in Copenhagen?
Day 1 of Copenhagen Itinerary 3 Days
Start off your first day in Copenhagen by opting for a city tour. You will find a large number of sightseeing tours here that will breeze you through all the important places in Copenhagen. In the latter half of the day pay a visit to Amalienborg. Here you will find four palaces with identical facade sharing an octagonal courtyard. Amalienborg is home of the Danish Royal Family.
Then visit Frederick's Church which is located close to Amalienborg. This church is well-known as The Marble Church and showcases the Rococo style of architecture. It was constructed in between 1749 to 1894.
End your day by admiring some exceptional artwork at the Danish Museum of Art and Design. This place will take you back in time by showing many antiques including clothes and furniture from the olden times.
Day 2 of Copenhagen Itinerary 3 Days
Let your 2nd day in Copenhagen be a palace and museum hopping day. You can start off by visiting the Frederiksborg Castle and Gardens. The castle, built in Renaissance style, served as a royal residence in the 17th century. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens that are manicured in the Baroque style.
After touring the estate, you can visit the National Museum of Denmark. This is the ideal place to know about the culture and history of Denmark. Other two museums that you can consider visiting include Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek and Thorvaldsen Museum.
Another place to visit on the second day includes Christiansborg Palace. The palace was built in between 1907 and 1928. It is constructed using different styles of architecture, namely, Baroque, Neoclassicism, and Neo-baroque.
Day 3 of Copenhagen Itinerary 3 Days
On your last day in Copenhagen, visit the Rosenborg Castle and Gardens early in the morning. The Rosenborg Castle is home to not only the castle but many other historical buildings. It is the oldest park in Copenhagen.
Next, make your way to the Copenhagen Botanical Garden. This place is home to more than 13,000 species of plants, shrubs, and trees. It was established at the current location in 1870.
After wandering through the garden, have lunch at a fine restaurant which serves delicious Danish cuisines. Let the rest of the day be spent shopping in Copenhagen. Elmegade, Stroget, and Jaegersborggade are some of the well-known shopping streets in the city.
