Enjoy exploring Old Town of Geneva in the morning
Start of your 24 hours in Geneva on a delicious note. Step into any of the patisseries in Geneva and treat yourself to a fresh pastry and coffee for breakfast. Then make your way to the Old Town of Geneva which will let you soak in the city’s history and culture. Let Your first stop be St Pierre Cathedral which dates back to the 4th century and exhibits spectacular Gothic style of architecture. Then head towards Maison Tavel - the oldest residential building in Geneva which has stood the test of time. The building is serving as a museum since 1986. It showcases the life lead by Geneva’s residents in old time along with the urban development of the city. Later, visit the Reformation Wall which is erected to honor the individuals of Protestant Reformation. This wall, which stretches for a 100 meter, has many statues and bas-reliefs. Then walk to Bourg-de-Four which is a bustling square in the Old Town. The square is marked with fountains, many shopping stores, and restaurants with outdoor seating. Have a scrumptious lunch at one of the restaurants here.
Spend your afternoon visiting an array of attractions
After a filling meal, be ready to go hopping from one place to another in the city. First take a guided tour of Palais des Nations or Palace of Nations. This is the United Nations office in Geneva. Located close to it is the Broken Chair which is a 39 feet tall monument symbolizing international peace. This giant wooden chair has a broken leg and speaks Geneva’s opposition to landmines and cluster bombs out loud. Then catch a bus which will drop you at the Métropole bus station. From here, walk to Jardin Anglais. This is an iconic park in the city which features a fountain dating back to 1862 and a flower clock sculpture. From this green park, you will also be able to enjoy panoramic views of the lake. You may even walk to the shores of the lake to admire Jet d’Eau - the tallest fountain in the world which reaches a height of about 140 meter.

Before you dive into Geneva’s nightlife, pay visit to a final attraction in the city. Head towards Musée d'Art et d'Histoire which is known to be the largest museum in Geneva. This place, through its numerous exhibits, will give you an insight into the art and culture of the city. After wandering through the galleries of the museum, you may head towards Plainpalais or Carouge to indulge in some shopping time. Plainpalais has a flea market where you may shop a variety of items.
