What to see in Guangzhou in 5 days?

Day 1 and 2 in Guangzhou

Upon arriving in Guangzhou, have a hearty breakfast and then visit Dr. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall. Built in between 1929 and 1931, this place has a lot of historical significance. After admiring this place, your next stop would be the Temple of Six Banyan Trees. The temple was built in 537 AD and houses the Buddhist relics from India.

The last sight to visit on the first day of Guangzhou is the Huaisheng Mosque which is one of the oldest mosques in the world.

Start off your second day in Guangzhou by heading towards the Yuèxiù Park which houses the Five Rams Statue. The finely sculpted statue is a spectacular piece of art. The park also has other interesting attractions to keep you indulged for a couple of hours. Next, you visit the Mausoleum of the Nányuè King which is one of the best museums in the city. Here, you can see the tomb of Nanyue King Zhao Mo in Guangzhou, China.

After lunch, you can spend the rest of the day at Shāmiàn Island. This is a beautiful place with gardens and many old houses, cafes, and restaurants. Have a relaxed time, walking along the quaint cobbled streets at this place.

Day 3 and 4 in Guangzhou

Start off your 3rd day in Guangzhou by visiting the Lotus Hill. Since it is an offbeat attraction, not many tourists head towards this beautiful place. It is a great place to be closer to nature. After feeling rejuvenated, head towards the Guangxiao Temple which is the oldest Buddhist temple in Guangzhou.

Have a quick lunch and then head towards the Sacred Heart Cathedral. The church exhibits Gothic Revival Roman style of architecture and is a treat to the eye.

As the sun sets in the west head towards the Canton Tower which makes for a mesmerizing sight to behold at night.

On day 4, rise early morning and head towards the quiet and scenic Qiandeng Lake in Foshan city. A little away from Guangzhou, you can spend half of your day at this serene place, indulged in various activities like kite flying, fishing, and pedal boating. Return to the city and head towards the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall. This place will occupy the remaining day since it has numerous attractions located within itself.

Day 5 in Guangzhou

Reserve your last day in Guangzhou to enjoy shopping in the city. Head towards the Beijing Road shopping street which is lined with a number of malls and stores that sell a variety of stores. Walking along the road, you will feel compelled to go on a shopping spree. Remember to buy souvenirs for your loved ones back home.
