Day 1 In Hyderabad

Charminar

Undoubtedly the most famous icon of the city, Charminar is a beautiful structure framed by four ornate minarets and boasts of spectacular arches and outdoor balconies. Located amidst buzzing market stalls specializing in jewelry, Charminar stands in the heart of the old city merely 4 kilometers from the Nampally Railway Station. Steep and narrow staircases take you to the top of this monument from where you can admire the hurried old city sprawled below.

Chowmahalla Palace

The official residence of the Nizam when they ruled Hyderabad, Chowmahalla Palace is a palace built as a replica to the Palace for the Shah of Iran. Among the first examples of European neo-classical architecture in the city, this majestic structure gives you a glimpse into the history and heritage of Hyderabad.

Purana Haveli and The Nizam’s Museum

Located in the stately Purani Haveli, The Nizam’s Museum boasts of a vast collection of memoirs which give tourists a peek into the lives of the royal Nizams, most of whom lived for a major part of their lives in the Purana Haveli. The major point of attraction in the residence is the golden wooden throne, which was used for the silver jubilee celebrations of the Last Nizam.

Salar Jung Museum

The third-largest museum in India, Salar Jung Museum houses artefacts and art pieces dating back to the 1st Century. From art pieces from the Mughal Empire and Indian Miniature Paintings to the priceless collection Nawab Mir Yusuf Ali Khan Salar Jung III, the staggering display at this museum is sure to leave you stunned!

Shadab

After completing the hectic day of sightseeing, unwind with a delicious meal at Shadab. Located in Ghansi Bazaar, the Shadab special biryani, the Haleem, Tandoori Chicken, Noori kebab, Shikampuri Kebabs, Nihari, and Pakistani Chicken served here are to die for!

Day 2 In Hyderabad

Golkonda / Golconda Fort

The capital of the medieval sultanate of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, Golconda Fort has been the site of many important wars and legends. Though now most of it lies in ruins, a visit to this fort transports you back in the times of kings and queens.

Birla Temple

A magnificent Hindu temple built on an 85-meter hill called Naubath Pahad, Birla Temple houses exquiaite marble and granite sculptures and showcases a beautiful blend of Oriya and South Indian styles. Dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara, Birla Temple is one of the must-visit tourist places in Hyderabad.

Hussain Sagar Lake

Hussain Sagar Lake is Asia’s largest artificial lake which lies adjacent to the Birla Temple. Constructed in 1562 AD during the reign of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah, this lake can be explored by boating.

Lumbini Park

Perfect for a relaxed stroll and a breath of fresh air, Lumbini Park lies on the edge of the Hussain Sagar Lake. A beautiful garden which features a fantastic floral clock, the cascading artificial waterfalls and the dancing musical fountains and hosts a fabulous laser show attracts thousands of visitors every year, Lumbini Park is an ideal place to end your day of sightseeing in the city.
