Start off your 24 hours in Inverness early morning by visiting Inverness Museum and Art Gallery. First started in 1881, this museum is the right place to visit if you wish to get an insight into Inverness' history and traditions. Since the museum also has a cafe, you may enjoy a light breakfast here. Then make your way towards Inverness Castle. This is a structure built way back in 1836. Since it is not open for public, you will have to be satisfied admiring the castle from outside. You may, however, access the castle grounds and the north tower. Then make a quick stop at Castle Gallery. Here you will get to see local talent through a wide range of exhibits including paintings, ceramics, glasswork, jewelry, and sculpture.

In the afternoon, find a fine restaurant by the River Ness to enjoy a delicious Scottish lunch. After a filling lunch, you may leisurely stroll along the leafy pathways that are wound along the tranquil Ness river. Walking along the paths, arrive at Inverness Cathedral.
