How to spend 2 days in Jaipur?
Day 1 In Jaipur
Let your first day in Jaipur be spent in visiting the attractions that are around the city. Let your first stop of the day be Jaigarh Fort. This is a hilltop fort built in 1726 by the then ruler Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. The primary reason for building this fort was to protect the Fort of Amer which will be your next stop of the day. Amer Fort or Amber Palace is an attraction that should be included in your 48 hours in Jaipur. Built in 1592, this is yet another hilltop fort. The opulent fort is a typical example of the Hindu style of architecture. The Maota Lake along with the Amer Fort in the backdrop makes for a postcard perfect picture. Being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you cannot miss visiting this place. Then make your way towards Sri Jagat Shiromani Temple. This is a spectacular temple built way back in between 1599-1608 AD. The temple is dedicated to Hindu gods Meerabai, Krishna, and Vishnu. Next, head towards Jal Mahal. This is a beautiful palace located right in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. Since it is not open for visitors to tour, you will have to be satisfied by admiring it from the road. Let your last stop of the day be Gaitore Ki Chhatriyan. This place is a hidden gem of Jaipur. Not known to many, it is an attraction skipped by most. But, it will prove to be the highlight of your Jaipur trip.
Day 2 In Jaipur
On your second day in Jaipur, you will be visiting the attractions that are located within the city. Start off by visiting the City Palace which was built in between 1729 and 1732. This is a complex of multiple structures including Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces. Located centrally, this is a place that wins every visitor's heart owing to the well-laid courtyards, gardens, and buildings. Next move towards Jantar Mantar which is located close to the City Palace. Jantar Mantar is a complex of astronomical and architectural instruments. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and gives you an idea of how technologically advanced India has been since the olden days. Your next stop for the day is Hawa Mahal. This red and pink sandstone structure will leave you awestruck. Built in 1799, this palace has 953 small windows, giving it a beehive shape. After admiring Hawa Mahal, make your way towards Albert Hall Museum. The museum is housed in a spectacular building constructed in 1887 using the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture. The museum has an extensive collection of artifacts including paintings, carpets, ivory, stone, metal sculptures, and works in the crystal. If time permits, you may also visit the Birla Mandir at the end of your second day in Jaipur.
