Places to Visit in Jodhpur in Two Days

Day 1: Sightseeing of Historical Palace, Fort, and Museum

The best way to see Jodhpur is by first visiting the Umaid Bhawan Palace & Museum which is one of the world's largest private residences. The construction of this opulent 347 room manor began in 1943 and its foundations were laid by Maharaja Umaid Singh. Next visit the Sardar Government Museum, located right in the middle of the Umaid Public Gardens on the High Court Road in Jodhpur. This century-old museum is renowned for its fascinating exhibits.

In the afternoon, plan a visit to the Mehrangarh Fort, also called the Jodhpur Fort. One of the most iconic sites in the city, this fort offers views that are unparalleled. A 15-minute walk from Mehrangarh Fort will take you to Jaswant Thada which is a famed royal cenotaph. Built in white marble, this fascinating cenotaph was built by Sardar Singh of Jodhpur in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. End your day 1 of Jodhpur by visiting the Mandore Garden. These gardens house cenotaphs of many of the former rulers of Jodhpur along with a stunning Hindu temple that is built in red sandstone.

A perfect end to the perfect day would be by visiting the Ghanta Ghar, which is also called the Clock Tower. Located close to the tower is the Sardar Market where you can shop for a variety of Rajasthani textiles.

Day 2: Visit Jodhpur Gardens & The Desert

After an overnight stay in Jodhpur, begin your day 2 on a leisurely note! Visit the Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park which is located at the foot of the Mehrangarh Fort. This 200-acres of rocky land has many green zones where you could spend a few moments while soaking in the views of the well-landscaped gardens. Just before lunch, visit the Rasik Bihari Temple, or the Naini Bai Ka Mandir, a stunning piece of architecture.

In the afternoon, make your way into the Thar Desert. Miles of golden sands in every direction you look, this desert has plenty of activities for people of all age groups.
