Close to the Tiger’s, there is Lion’s Point of Lonavala where you can reach on foot to get the breathtaking views of the clouds over the city.

A 15 minutes’ drive will take you to the beautiful Bushi Dam of Lonavala. Built on the Indrayani River, this dam is one of the most spectacular spots in Lonavala. You can head to Rajmachi especially when you are with kids to have fun at the children’s park and take a tour of the Rajmachi Fort. Come back to the city and stay at one of the beautiful resorts and taste the delicious Maharashtrian food and yes, do take a stroll of the market to buy the Lonavala Chikki and fudge.

Day 2

One of the newest and popular places in the city is Sunil’s wax Museum where you will witness the lifelike wax statues of the famous people of India. A 30 minutes’ drive will take you to the Bhaja Caves. These 2nd century caves will introduce you to India’s glorious past. The caves are protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. Another historically important place near Lonavala to visit in the afternoon is the Lohagad Fort which is only 3 kilometers away from the Bhaja Caves. As you reach the top of the fort, you will be mesmerized by the views of the hills. You can also enjoy the state’s famous cuisine at the eateries located here.

As the evening approaches, it’s time to head to the gorgeous Pawna Lake which is only 15 kilometers from the Lonavala Railway Station. The soothing sight of this lake will surely relax your mind. Catching the sunset over the lake is something you should not miss during your 2-day trip to Lonavala.
