What to see in 3 days in Moscow?

Day 1

Start off your first day in the city by exploring the famous Moscow Kremlin. This is a fortified complex comprised of 5 palaces, 4 churches, walls, and towers. With a number of places to visit within the complex, you will be required to spend about 3 hours in Kremlin. Have a quick delicious lunch and then be ready to admire the art in Moscow. First head towards The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. This is known to be the largest European art museum in Moscow and is home to about 700,000 paintings, drawing, sculptures, photographs, applied works, and archaeological and animalistic objects. You may also visit Cathedral of Christ the Saviour which is located just opposite the museum. This church is a spectacular piece of architecture with gleaming domes perched at its top. Then head towards The State Tretyakov Gallery which was established in 1856. The museum houses an extensive collection 130,000 exhibits. As the day comes close to an end, head towards Gorky Park. This is a riverfront amusement park where you can relax in the gardens, enjoy different rides, or watch people as you sip coffee at a cafe.

Day 2

On your second day in Moscow, explore the Red Square. Located in the heart of Moscow, this area has many must-visit attractions. Make your first stop at Lenin's Mausoleum. Also known as Lenin’s Tomb, this is the resting place of Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin. Then head towards the State History Museum which gives you an insight into the history of Russia. Established in 1872, the museum showcases about a million objects that include prehistoric relics, Romanov Dynasty art, and much more. Then have lunch at one of the elegant restaurants in Red Square. Later, make your way towards St. Basil's Cathedral. The vividly colored cathedral makes for an eccentric sight to behold. In the evening, head towards the GUM. This 3-storey shopping arcade will tempt you to go on a shopping spree. End your day with a delicious dinner at one of the restaurants in Red Square.

Day 3

On your last day in Moscow, head towards Kolomenskoye. This large estate, spread over an area of 900 acres, is comprised of many historic buildings dating back to the 16th and 17th century, and first open-air museum of wooden architecture in Russia. While exploring the estate, you will be treated to many panoramic views of River Maskova. Have a scrumptious lunch in the city and then make your way towards Novodevichy Convent. This is a riverside monastery dating back to the 1520s and is especially known for its 5 domed cathedral. The Novodevichy Cemetery is also located on the grounds and is home to graves of notable personalities such as Anton Chekhov, Nikita Khrushchev, and Prokofiev. Ton ends your 3 days and 2 nights in Moscow on a high note you must visit Bolshoi Theatre to witness an opera or a ballet performance.
