Known to be the steepest funicular tunnel track in the world, this Penang Hill railway takes you up the hill in just about 15 minutes. After reaching at the top, take a moment to drink in the panoramic vistas of the island as seen from a height of about 800 meter. Then start wandering on the hill to discover the heritage sites located on Penang Hill. First make your way towards the Bel Retiro Bungalow which dates back to 1789. It was built to house the governor of Penang and now serves as a resort for high government officials and visiting dignitaries. Other places that are worth visiting on the hill include Sri Aruloli Thirumurugan Hindu Temple, a 250 year old canon, and a hill mosque.
