What to see in 3 days in Pittsburgh
Day One In Pittsburgh
On your day 1, as you drive to the city from the airport, make sure you stop at the Fort Pitt Tunnel to take a photograph. It is from here that you can take a glimpse of all the exciting things that Pittsburgh has to offer including its stunning skyline. Later in the afternoon once you have settled in, head to the South Highland Avenue where you can enjoy a nice meal. Later, proceed to explore the Downtown Pittsburgh. Check out the PPG Place which is constructed using more than 20,000 pieces of glass, Wintergarden, and MassMutual Ice Rink before heading to the nearby Market Square. For dinner, you can visit some of the best restaurants in the city like Cure, The Vandal, or Morcilla.
Later in the night, head to Allegheny Wine Mixer for some great wine and music.
Day Two In Pittsburgh
Today, explore the many neighborhoods of Pittsburgh. The city’s neighborhoods are perfect to just wander around. First, head to the pedestrian-friendly Lawrenceville neighborhood and take a stroll along the Butler Street where you will many young artists and entrepreneurs. After a nice breakfast at one of its cafes, head to the Cathedral of Learning. Located inside the University of Pittsburgh campus, this Gothic architectural wonder is the second tallest university structure in the western hemisphere. The Mexican War Streets neighborhood is where you must head next. Here you will find lines of Victorian-era houses that will not fail to impress you! For some of the city's best restaurants, head to the Upper Lawrenceville. Whether it is textured dumplings with octopus, beef heart, or guanciale Bolognese, you can try it all here.
Day Three In Pittsburgh
On your last day, visit the Mount Washington. But before that, stop at t La Gourmandine Bakery for a nice scrumptious breakfast. Its French pastries, pan au chocolate, clafoutis, and baguettes will make up for a perfect breakfast. Mount Washington is one of the most visited neighborhoods of Pittsburgh and offers some of the best views of the city's skyline. Walk along its Shiloh Street and wonder at the many beautiful and charming rows of houses. The Grandview Avenue is another place you must check out.
In the evening, head to the Hard Rock Café Pittsburgh. Complete with industrial interior and an outdoor patio, this place is a must visit. Enjoy its classic rock 'n' roll and an amazing selection of drinks and food menu on your last day in Pittsburgh.
