What to see in 3 days in Sarajevo?

Day 1 – Old City Sarajevo

Old town part of Sarajevo is where most of the primary tourist attractions of the city are located. A walking tour of Old Town is the best way to explore this area in one day. Start with Baščaršija, with a visit to Sebilj, a pseudo-Moorish fountain which is one of Sarajevo’s iconic symbols. Then head to Brusa Bezistan Museum to know more about the interesting past of the city. You can also include the Old Synagogue, which now operates as a Jewish Museum and Svrzo’s House, a quintessential house in Sarajevo which once belonged to a rich Muslim man and boasts of typical architecture.

There are also a couple of different museums in this area like Museum of Sarajevo, National Museum of BiH, and Historical Museum of BiH. All these places will reward you with interesting insights into the era of World War 2.

Day 2 – Siege of Sarajevo Tour

Day 3 – Day Trip to Travnik

Undertake a day trip to Travnik, the Ottoman capital also often called ‘the most Oriental City in Bosnia’, which is located 53 miles from Sarajevo. The 15th Century Travnik Castle, the magnificent mosques and the splendid clock towers provide visitors a glimpse into the Ottoman architecture.
