You can start a morning by visiting Padmanabhaswamy Temple nestled in a busy neighbourhood of the city. One of the famous tourist attractions in Kerala, this place of worship is visited by millions of tourists every year. The oldest mentions of the temple can be found between 500 B.C and 300 A.D. Visiting this majestic temple is a treat for art-lovers and architecture-enthusiasts as the walls are adorned with intriguing and elegant sculptures and carvings. It usually takes more than a couple of hours to explore the temple. So, try to visit as early as possible.

There are several restaurants around the temple that offer traditional South Indian cuisine. You can have a lunch at one of these places to satiate your hunger.

You can visit East Fort that is hardly minutes away from the Padmanabhaswamy Temple. Also known as Kizhakke Kotta, this site holds a significant place in the local history.
