6 Days in Tokyo Vacation Guide

What to see in Tokyo in 6 days?

Day 1 and 2

There are many temples and shrines in Tokyo that you must visit on your trip. You can start your trip with a visit to the Senso-Ji Temple. This is the oldest temple of Tokyo which was destroyed during the World War II and then it was rebuilt. As you walk out of the temple from the Kaminarimon Gate, you will find the street lined by a number of gift shops and eateries. Your next stop for the day will be the longest tower of Tokyo called the Tokyo Skytree Tower. There is a lot to see around this skyscraping tower and on the top of it, there is an observation deck where you will be able to get the panoramic views of the city as well the Mount Fuji. You can spend the whole day shopping, eating, and taking the tour of the aquarium inside the building.

Next day, book a ticket to attend an exciting baseball game at the Tokyo Dome. You will get a glimpse Japan’s love for sports while attending the Yomiuri Giants baseball game. On the same day, you can visit the Akihabara Electric Town which is a heaven for the people in love with technical items. Enjoy a video game or buy some interesting toys from the shops here and also taste the Japanese cuisine at the restaurants.

Day 3 and 4

You are spending 6 days in Japan and you haven’t yet soak yourself in a retain therapy, then your visit will be incomplete. Therefore, it’s time to head to the Ginza Shopping District. Lined by a number of fashion boutiques and retail stores, the streets of Ginza shopping District are a true paradise for shopping lovers. You can shop at the Mitsukoshi Department Store and watch a show at Kabukiza Theater. Your next visit will be to the town that never sleeps, Shinjuku. Dotted with a number of bars, nightclubs, and upscale restaurants, this place is a real heaven for party-lovers.

On day 4, head to Meiji Jingu which is home to the tombs of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. You will also love to walk under the canopy of 100,000 trees planted here. Close to Meiji Jingu is Takeshita-Dori which is a food street in Harajuku famous for its ice cream and potato chips. You can also engage yourself in souvenir shopping. Apart from this, you can visit the unique pet cafes, the fashion stores on Cat Street, and walk on the Shibuya Pedestrian Scramble.

Day 5 and 6

These two days will add more fun to your Tokyo trip. Especially when you are touring the city of Tokyo, Japan with kids, they will thank you for these two days. The first and most exciting destination will be Tokyo Disneyland. You can spend half of your day here enjoying the joyful rides, attending live shows, and meeting and clicking pictures with your favorite Disney characters like Mickey and Minnie. The Tower of Terror and Indiana Jones Adventure are also a must-experience. On the same day, you can visit the Tokyo Sea Life Park. This public aquarium houses a large marine life from all around the world.

Take a tour of the local markets of Tokyo on the last day of your trip. You can start by walking through the Tsukiji Market, one of the largest wholesale fish markets in Japan. While walking on the streets of this fish market, you can enjoy at delicious Sushi at Sushizanmai. Come out of the market and head to the gorgeous Ueno Park. You can also visit the Tokyo National Museum, National Museum of Nature and Science or Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum on the same day. There are famous shrines and monuments that are built in memory of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
