Day 1 in Venice

Start off your first day in Venice by exploring the San Marco neighborhood. This is the area where most of the prime attractions in the city are located. All the places, being closely situated to each other, can be covered on foot. Since there are many churches in San Marco, you may go hopping from one religious site to another. Amongst all, you must visit the St Mark’s Basilica. Located in the huge St Mark’s Square, this basilica leaves you stunned and gives you a glimpse of the Venetian wealth and royalty. Other attractions that are a must visit in San Marco include Doge’s Palace, Bridge of Sighs, Saint Mark’s Clocktower and Campanile, and Rialto Bridge. At night, you must visit Teatro La Fenice. It is an opera house which is considered to be very significant in the history of Italian theater.

Day 2 in Venice

On your second day in Venice, explore the Dorsoduro district. You can start by visiting Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. Located by the Grand Canal, this Roman Catholic church was built in between 1631 and 1687. Then make your way towards Peggy Guggenheim Collection. This is a museum set in an 18th-century waterside palace and holds an extensive collection of 20th-century art. Next head towards Ponte dell'Accademia. This is a wood and metal bridge with padlocks and is a popular spot for taking beautiful pictures. If you wish to peek at the art and furniture of 18th-century Venice then you must visit Ca' Rezzonico which is yet another waterside museum. Day 3 in Venice

Day 4 in Venice

While Munaro island is known for glass blowing, Burano island is popular for lace making. If you finish your tour soon, and you have some time on your hands then you may go shopping in Venice.
