If you have read the poems of William Wordsworth, you must be tempted by the beauty of Tintern Abbey that he has featured in most of his works. So, while you are in Wales, start your 72 hours in Wales with a visit to Tintern Abbey. Located on the Welsh bank of the river Wye, Tintern Abbey boasts some of the greatest monastic ruins of Wales. After spending some time in this serene atmosphere, you can head to the bustling town of Abergavenny. Enjoy the views of the Sugarloaf Mountain from this “market town” of Wales and visit the Abergavenny Castle to discover the Norman ruins. Take a walking tour of the market and buy some “Wales special items” for you.

You can move forward to the town of Blaenavon if you want to explore the industrial landscapes of Wales. This hillside town is famous for its iron and coal mines and is one of the World Heritage Sites. Apart from mines, you can also see the primitive railway station and furnaces.
