Sule Pagoda (Sule Paya)

Yet another pagoda that dominates the skyline of Yangon, Sule Pagoda was built more than 2000 years ago. This pagoda is said to house a hair strand of Buddha that he gave to two Burmese merchants.

Yangon Circular Train (Circle Line)

This railway offers the tourist to sit conformably and get a whiff of the local life in Yangon. The circuit completes 28.5-mile round as it takes you across lush farmland, suburban neighborhoods, and rural villages surrounding Yangon.

Bogyoke Aung San Market

Bogyoke Aung San Market has one of the largest selections of antique items. This bustling market is best known for rare antiques, old coins, Burmese jade, and black-market moneychangers. Arrive early to get the best prices.

Kandawgyi Park

Also called the Kandawgyi Garden, Kandawgyi Park is one of the best parks in the city. Located right in the heart of the city, the park’s peaceful settings allow its visitors to unwind. The park has an artificial lake and a mini zoo and also offers good views of the Shwedagon Pagoda and Karaweik Hall.

Yangon City Hall

One of the most important admirative buildings in the city, the Yangon City Hall is where the leaders meet. An architectural wonder in itself, the building is known to boast a combination of British and Burmese architecture.

Bogyoke Aung San Museum

This museum is dedicated to General Aung San who is widely considered the founder of modern Myanmar. The father of Suu Kyi who is one of today’s most recognizable figures, General Aung San was assassinated in 1947. This museum is set in the very house that his family lived in before his death.
