How to see Zurich in 4 days?

Day 1

Start off your first day in Zurich with a hefty breakfast at Zunfthaus zur Zimmerleuten. This is a cozy yet grand restaurant set in a refurbished wooden guild house which offers traditional swiss cuisines. Then head towards Grossmünster which is located close to the restaurant. This Protestant church is one of the four important churches in Zurich and exhibits Romanesque style of architecture. Later make your way towards Fraumünster Church. You may admire this church with a rich history just from outside or opt for an accredited guided tour. After a quick lunch, your next stop would be Swiss National Museum. Considered to be one of the prime attractions in Zurich, this museum gives you a glimpse of the cultural history. You will be able to view gothic art, panel paintings and carved altars, and liturgical wooden sculptures. Let the rest of your time be reserved for shopping. Head towards Bahnhofstrasse which boasts to be an ideal venue for shopping in Zurich.

Day 2

On your second day in Zurich, let your first stop be Zürich Zoologischer Garten. Opened in 1929, this zoo is home to more than 4600 animals. One of the most loved event in the zoo is the penguin parade performed daily. Being a large zoo, it would occupy your couple of hours. Then make your way towards yet another famous museum in the city called Kunsthaus Zürich. This museum lets you admire swiss art spanning from middle ages to contemporary art. Then have lunch at a fine restaurant to treat your taste buds with swiss cuisines. If you are a football fan, then let your next stop for the day be FIFA World Football Museum. The museum has a vast collection of football exhibits along with a sports bar, a library, and eateries. You may then spend the remaining time of your day exploring Zurich by strolling along its paved walkways. At night, visit Niederdorf Street to taste the nightlife of Zurich.

Day 3

Start off your third day in Zurich by visiting Sukkulenten-Sammlung Zürich. This is a botanical garden, established in 1931, and is home to more than 6,500 types of succulent plants. Then make your way towards Rietberg Museum where you can view artwork from Asian, African, American, and Oceania. After having lunch in the afternoon, you are free to explore a few of the lesser known attractions in Zurich. These include Uhrenmuseum Beyer, UZH - Zoological Museum, Zürcher Spielzeugmuseum, and focusTerra. You may choose to visit any of these or all of these if you have enough time on your hands. At night, you must visit Zürich Opera House to be awe-inspired by the spectacular architecture of the building.

Day 4

On your last day in Zurich, make a day trip to Lucerne. Located some 52 kilometer away from Zurich, you will be able to reach Lucerne in about 45 minutes. Here, make your first stop to admire the Lion Monument. This is a rock relief dating back to 1820. Then you must visit the Pilatus Mountain. You may park your car in Lucerne and then ride the cable car up the mountain. Throughout the ride, you will be treated to panoramic views. Upon reaching the top, you will be stunned by the natural beauty around you. The breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscapes will leave you awestruck. You will have to take the train to descend Pilatus. If you have some time left in your hands, then you may take a boat tour across Lake Lucerne.
