This is considered as one of the most sacred Mosque in Ankara. The name of the Mosque is dedicated to a prominent Islamic saint Haci Bayram Camii. He was the founder of Bayramiye dervish order around 1400. Ankara was the centre of this order and Haci Bayram Veli is respected by Muslims all over the world.

The mosque was constructed in 15th century and has renovations again in 18th century. The site of this mosque was originally the site of ancient temple of Augustus. The temple was built by a Galatian king and today only two walls and the door section of the temple stands. There are testaments engraved on the walls and door describing the Greek rule in Turkey. 

When visiting the mosque, don’t forget to check out the shops outside that sell the religiously symbolic Paraphernalia which includes the wooden toothbrushes that were supposedly used by Prophet Mohammed.
