This scenic viewpoint is the most popular tourist trap in the city. It is 1800 metres high, and offers sweeping panoramas of the city, and of the distant mountains. Seen from a distance, the shape of the hill seems to resemble an elephant.

Before you get your hopes too high though, know that this just a viewpoint and nothing more. Many come up here expecting a lot more. At the top, the gazebo is decorated with beautiful trees and gardens. It’s usually moderately crowded though. There’s a restaurant on top, and a horse-riding farm.

There are two ways to get up to the gazebo – by car, and by the chairlift cablecar, known as the Telerefico. The 76 seater cable car takes just 5 minutes to cover its 560 metre journey up, and is quite exciting. On the other hand, driving up by car takes you past some beautiful private estates.
