The Ali Pasha Mosque was built by Sulejman Pasha in 1573 and a part from being a spiritual and religious space, it was used also as a religious secondary school. The mosque is one of the few prominent buildings that date back to the reign of the Ottoman Empire and its architecture is part of what sets the place apart from other historical buildings. Notice the beautiful circular minar that rises above the other buildings in the area, the beautiful stone construction and the plush interiors with a beautiful carpeted hall adorned with a chandelier and intricately carved wooden panels. Much of what you see now is part of the multiple restorations that have been carried out here since the 16th century.

Even though the mosque is located in the bustling old-part of Ohrid and is a beautiful place to spend a few moments in prayer and silence.
