Ragunan Zoo Reviews & Ratings
Had a wonderful time observing the animals! However, some animals are without companion. They must have felt lonely... You can rent bikes here, so there's no need to worry about not being able to walk around this big zoo. It gets crowded during the day, so it's better to visit early!
It's a really big zoo! You need almost the whole day, to explore. In the morning, especially during weekends, you'll see some people go jogging. Some spots are nice for going walking and jogging because there are nice shades. My favorite section is the elephants 🐘. They're super cute!
Animals are not taken care of well. Dry. I visited on Sunday. Too crowded. Too many cars parked everywhere. Should have limited the access for cars. So that we can walk and breathe the fresh air.
Most of the animal is hiding under the shade or taking a nap. The walkway is confusing and the map is even more confusing. You could navigate through using a picture of the map with Google maps. Thankfully there's a lot of food stalls and chilled beverage stalls all over the zoo. Weirdly enough, they all only accepts cash when you were supposed to have DKI card to enter the zoo. There was one beverage vending machine right at the gate which uses the card, but that's it. For all the hiking I felt, I'd say you should come if you were dressed to hike. Otherwise it's so hot here and most of the terrain is vertically challenging. The animals is mostly hiding, but if you see a mob around the gate, there's a big chance the animal is out for the time.
Nice place to spent weekend with family. The primate center is great, and I think the giraffes and pelicans have the best enclosure. The entry ticket is very cheap. However some place and some of the enclosures in the zoo are lack of maintenance.
