  • Although the overcast skies and 37° temperature didn't make for a typical park day, I was still pleasantly surprised by this place. Well kept roads and grounds offer easy navigation through the sprawling property. There are a few beautiful pavilion areas that offer grills and overlook the river. Serene tranquility surrounds you as you walk the many trails, leaning you feeling refreshed after a dip in a nature bath tucked away in a metropolitan suburb. Highly recommend.

  • We take our child to the park all the time. I wish the entire park was cover because the plastic gets extremely hot in this Ga sun. There are lots of different things for kids of all ages to play to play on. The ground is rubberized which is really nice. The grounds are kept relatively clean.

  • Amerson has such beautiful trails to walk with a loved one if you're looking for a nice quiet place to just relax and walk a little. You can walk down towards the river and just enjoy the breeze. The playground for the little ones is definitely one of the best in Macon too. My four year old can't get enough of it

  • This is great park for everyone! There is a handicap accessible, big playground plus walking trails by the Ocmulgee River, covered Pavilions for a nice picnic lunch, benches under shady trees. It’s the perfect spot in the city to get away from the hustle and bustle for a while. It’s free, so go enjoy some family time together in this scenic park!

  • Nice park. Lots of clean, paved trails for cyclists, walkers, and runners, several pavilions, bathrooms, areas for children to play, nice views of the river, less noise pollution than The Ocmulgee Heritage Trail. Part of the trail under water because of significant flooding.
